There is no room for prophylactic effects in this definition.

Sorry; sure, I'll do that:
"medical use of a remedy made of a substance that, given to a healthy person, could create the same symptoms and signs presented by the patient".
It's not a sentence, but it is a definition, such as you could put proudly into a dictionary…
Cheers --

Would you add ", or prevent disease," after the word "patient" in the first sentence?

That is not the whole sentence.....
Time now for me to attend to His Majestic Canine request for a walkie....I'll talk to him about that and see what he comes up with...

Unfortunately I can only get to look at this list once in a while. But every time the first thought that comes to mind is what a waste of time. Instead of discussing reaal issues such as cured cases or difficulties in cases all I can see iss intellectual hair splitting that is not going to get anyone anywhere.
Please get into the practical aspectss of Homoeopathy rather than waste your time in definitions and arguments etc.
Best regards
Elham

First: If you don't like it, delete it.
Second: I spend a lot of time explaining homeopathy to the general public, to colleagues in the natural medicine field and to some conventional doctors. It is an element of importance to me to have a definition that is shared by most practitioners, so that inquisitive minds who ask questions to various practitioners would receive the same answer, making homeopathy more coherent.
It is called public education.

We were waiting for your beneficial contribution in this area Elham ... but in its absence had to resort to the hair-splitting.
Would you like to be the solution to your problem?

Dear friends,
Please don't get me wrong, I was not referring to any person or any patrticular post, I was talking in general terms about what might be aa better approach. I will not be able to contribute directly to the group as it takes a lot of time and that is something i can't afford. Contributing to the group will not take much time but getting answers and getting into arguments is beyond me.
But I am ready to work with three or four people. The condition is that these three or four should have studied a proper course and should be practicong.Homoeopaths.
Best regards
Elham

That is nice, the young man has become of above 200 years age and we are trying to understand whether the Name given and meaning to the out-spring was right or wrong.
Why not change our own definition?

I was tweeting today. In Twitter you only have 140 characters per tweet which forces one to be very concise.
We should also have tweetable versions.
"Homeopathy is a holistic therapy that restores full health to the whole patient including the actual presenting problems."
"Homeopathy takes into perspective one's chief complaints plus physical, psychological, spiritual, mental, emotional and inherited aspects"
"Homeopathy uses non-toxic potentized remedies made from natural substances that cure similar symptoms produced when given to a healthy person"
