I am sending any specimen I want to potentise to my pharmacist, it is his specialisation and his job to do it............

Not joking here, I want my remedies to be made perfectly and professionally according to all the strictest rules and not amateurishly as I would do it and do at times when I really need something right now.

Here is how I do it when really needed: if it is not liquid, I crush the substance/bug/plant/drug in a mortar until it is a fluid paste, add water drop by drop while mixing until I got a turbid solution, which I consider to be my mother tincture, then as usual, one part in 9 or 99 and being lazy by nature, using the Korsakoff method, trying as best as I can to use the same angle and time when I empty the container.
If I want to create an isotherapic from a swab, I let the swab macerate in water, just covering the cotton bud, until it becomes cloudy, then back to the usual.

I do that extremely rarely; although I think it worked, it is for me only a temporary measure....guess we Kiwis are spoiled with our pharmacies...

does nothing for them and they have moved into the garden the past 3 yrs for some reason.

There was a nice story in… a book whose name I can't remember, by Elaine Something… She describes treating a friend who was reacting to a wasp bite, by catching a wasp and tossing it with some water into a blender, and making the "mother tincture" that way.

Crude, but it worked well -- and why not.

The other thing you could do is trap them, give them a two-week "vacation" in cornmeal and/or basil (for e.g.), and then fry them and eat them! If I have understood right, these are good ol' escargot, the French delicacy.

Very edible, once they've had the clean-out (cornmeal and/or basil).

Or so I hear.

Personally my approach has been to sink dishes of beer into the garden, where they crawl in and happily drown. Apparently they prefer *good* beer tho, not the cheap stuff.
