I did six per day for over a year, with nothing but benefit…
Always just according to taste and feel, never forcing myself, and never by theory, just by apparent need.

I like that. I eat via theory WAY too much. But my smoothies are delicious. (:->)

You need to eat the whole egg, yolk and all. Yolks contain lecithin which helps to emulsify and somehow eliminate the cholesterol that is in the egg yolk if that is a concern for you.

The cholesterol isn't eliminated, it is used! It's part of the structure of things such as Vitamin D and the steroid hormones, as well as the brain, and I think cell walls too.

I eat the whole egg, usually raw. And I like lecithin in my diet. But I have absolutely no desire to eliminate cholesterol from my diet.

You'd die fast if you did, starting with your brain failing to function at all.
That's what happens to peope on too much statin, the brain quits, it cannot function without its daily cholesterol.

About expensive fish eggs. Find a good fish dealer or if you live on the coast passing trucks carrying fish. Some of those drivers will exchange a meal for fish.

They should not be throwing out the eggs. Many eggs are sold in Japan with the eggs inside. The guts maybe taken out, but the egg sack is left intact. Many fish eggs are surprisingly bland. Other very oily eggs are highly prized such as salmon and are sold at a high price (6 dollars for about 1.5 cups of eggs) or are sold in a salted form for broiling and to be eatten with rice.

In the US,(Pittsburgh) we went to the retail district where there were rows of Asian markets. Those who butchered their own fish kept the eggs. Old timer poor folk knew the value of eggs and you could ask the "white" fish dealer to give you the eggs. They were often free.

Forget about expensive imported canned eggs. How silly.

Hello group!

My 80+ year old friend has returned home from the hospital. I don't think she eats eggs, and in fact I am very concerned about her diet. She was eating yogurt and I don't know what else. But in the last 3 years (I know she had at least 45 trips (probably more) to the ER. Stroke in 2010 and never the same. They put those stents in and left her to die on the pills. She is home now from the last 15 day stay in the hospital because she used too much magnesium in her bath (despite the warning). I don't know what happened, but she made it through the strength of her consciousness and sheer will to live. I'm not sure what happened in the hospital, but 15 days is a long time. She wrote once since she got home and then silence for 2-3 weeks. I received an e-mail today but she says she can't write and something happened to her brain with the stroke.
Would you recommend raw eggs to try to awaken her body and mind? I'm going to be fermenting water kefir with edible flowers and my special vinegar (not too much becasue she doesn't need to loose weight!). Veins are too small, and she was born with 1 kidney in her stomach. They moved it through surgery. Don't know at what age... but it seems that it may have something to do with the heart/blood pressure problem.

She has a great hom... I just need to figure out how to give her help with food and find someone who can help with shopping, preparation, cooking.
