Hi Shannon,
Maybe I can solve it after all.

Could it be that you mixed up JW and DL?

He wrote the same thing Chris did - only his post was before I ever
put up my Project v. Boenninghausen.

And I also did the same thing I did this time - I did not answer.

This "similarity" made me remember.

as most of the people in this list do-

And thanks Hahnemannian2002- I'll remember your caution about
avoiding bites. BTW, your polypharma recipe for bites has all the
makings of a good complex, as you wrote: "Ledum + Echinacea + Caladium
or even Lachesis ... :-) "

You are welcome Didi - Still beware of the bites :)

Actually the reasons some of us entered the conversation were not in
reply to "challenge to combo rx", but rather in reply to a few people's
implications and/or statements that certain subjects (e.g. combos)
should not be discussed on the list, and that the post was
inappropriate.

So there have been several conversations tripping over each other--what
do we think about combos (being led mostly by those folks who don't
want us talking about them at all), and do we want the list's
conversational boundaries to be rigid ("classical" only), or flexible
(as they have been). That second is the one that I find more
important, and it's one we keep coming back to.

Yes. It seems I called your bluff.
And yes. You ARE speaking for yourself.

But carry on, as you do....

***Thanks Didi, I already have the feeling I serve humanity in my own
capacity, and I'm going to France and Scotland next year for a holiday. In
the last several days I felt like a pioneer just by promoting the single
remedy on this List!

By the way, homoeopaths are also welcome to do volunteer work in the Medical
Missionary of Mary hospitals in Africa and other countries. While the MMM's
are an allopathic medical (and religious) organization, they do have a very
progressive and open-minded holistic approach to alternative medicine, and
any support financial or otherwise is welcome.

Hi Chris,
I was not trying to argue for the appropriateness of using combination
remedies (tho I continue to not feel as strongly against them as you
do, I agree that they're a departure from the classical method and
bring their own uncertainties). It was the "how do you explain ... the
homeopathic mechanism at work" that I was responding to. It seems
clear that combos uphold *part* of the homeopathic theory, yet go
against (at least) one of its stated rules.

I agree with much of what you've said, yet to me it seems misguided to
overlook the facts that (a) they do "work" fine for certain tasks (I am
thinking of acute and other self-righting situations), and (b) they are
part of what is popularly understood as homeopathy; IMO it is better
that we should simply state the drawbacks to that vs. single-remedy
prescribing, rather than get caught up in arguing over the boundaries
of the "name".
Cheers,
Shannon

This research seems reasonable to me. We need to sort the wheat from
the chaff. Is it not permisible to question the writings of the great

Hi Chris,
:-) If you see it that way, it's ok.

As I see it: why should I argue? The people on this list, those who
are interested, can go to my homepage and read the "Preface" to the
Project v. Boenninghausen for themselves. All the material is there
for them to make up their own minds.

Indeed - *only* for myself. No allegiance to any group or dogma.
I will. Not with the topic of the preface. This part of the project is
closed as far as I am concerned. As I said - the material is there,
and I am no longer concerned in the matter.

I will keep on with the main part, i.e. transcribing from the
manuscript casebooks the way I explained in the Synopsis. The second
part of it will probably be posted next week.

People interested in only the main part or offended by the ideas of
the Preface can skip it and read only the parts that are interesting
to them. In the main part, headed as Vol. 1, 2 .... 15 there will be
no remarks by me at all. I should, however, suggest that they read the
"explanations" part, since otherwise the cases themselves may be hard
to understand.

I cannot be any more fair than that, IMO.

Regards

Luise
