Minutus

As I understand from genus epidemicus and also the opinion of Hahnemann that psora is an epidemic disease, can we hope to finding a remedy that covers entire symptoms of psora? therefore it should be able to cure every psoric diseases. Can we consider Psorinum as a candidate?

Although some might try to equate the use of psorinum first in acute
diseases, evem all cases to Hahnemann used of Sulphur first in chronic
states based on psora, suppression and drugging but there is little
similarity. In acute diseases Hahnemann usually began the case with a
remedy chosen for the acute symptoms. In a few instances, however, he would
alternate an acute remedy with Sulphur when he thought psora was an
obstacle to the cure. A common example, was Aconite with Sulphur in an
acute aconite-like fever.

As to giving everyone Psorinum and in so many high to low potencies so
quickly???? Well.....I find it quite unnecessary in my cases!!! What is the
long term effects of such standardized medication??? This methods seems to
be leaving many of the cardinal checks and balances integrated in the
system far behind. At least we *know* that the traditional methods are safe
and effective as we have a large pool of clinical information spanning 196
years.

"Covering every symptom" is definitely not a guarantee; the remedy also
has to match various other aspects of the case, including (some
selection of ) things such as pace, tissues affected, causation, and
something like "internal dynamics". I suppose one could include these
as "symptoms", but they won't necessarily be repertorizable, and in the
case of smaller remedies or certain types of cases, they won't
necessarily be known. Psorinum certainly can't cure everything psoric!

Huzzah, seems to me that you have hit two nails on their heads!
And more nails with the rest--I second all that! And I do think it's
important that we *so* continue to try to understand these issues.
Partly because we need to understand the issues, and partly because WE
NEED TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO EACH OTHER. Yep, I'm shouting.

Hi Joy,
It has never been my wish that this list be thrown wide open; I
(personally) appreciate its classical focus. My objections in these
recent brouhahas have been twofold: One, that as I see it we do live
within a larger world, and do have some responsibility to be aware of
what else is being done in the name of homeopathy, and some of us would
like to be aware of other approaches that we *may* want to learn more
about--not that this list would be the place for *learning* those, but
it should reasonably, IMO, be a place where those can be tangentially
raised in a reasonable, respectful atmosphere.

The second area is actually bigger... How to say this (again)...
Well, we are adults. We're professionals (at least many are). Many of
us are representing homeopathy to the public, to our patients,
families, media, all that. This sort of verbal "lynching" of anyone
who dares to speak "outside the lines", well... It's shameful, really.
Disagreement is one thing, and that's not what I've objected to. But
really, I think I've said it all before. It does get really tiresome
that one can't just have a reasonable conversation about a tangential
topic (and I am saying *tangential*, not totally unrelated); and if
there's a problem with it, that problem (request; or statement of
guidelines; or request for clarification; or whatever) should be
handled respectfully, and perhaps even privately. This mudslinging and
caterwalling is just... argh. I quiver with embarrassment at the
realization that this *is* the introduction that some folks are getting
to "homeopathy"! Can't we do better, for heaven's sake?

It is only lynching if you see it as such - I am more for free speech
and when a subject enters that one might be vehemently against, so be
it. But one aspect that irks me is that those who cosy up and think
they are being open minded and 'nice' are actually just as much part of
the so called mudslinging (your words not mine), sometimes a pile of
emoticons, jokes and back slapping for the trite humour just doesn't do
it - so why not leave it be and move on. Yes we can do better by being
better homeopaths. Joy
