I see a big difference between "results of research" and
all the multitude of theories out there - Atkins and dozens of others
- which is NOT from research.
I think people confuse the theories with the research findings - and
it matters.
Most theorists have found one isolated research fact and then made
every imaginable asumption supposedly based ip[n gthe one item - to
come up with something to sell.
I do not buy into that either.
But I do use real research findings.
These are theories being argues not research findings:-)
For example people argue whether cholesterol is good or bad in the
diet - but nobody has any research finding either way.
It's only assumptions that cause these futile arguments.
Example:
Research shows that a certain kind of cholesterol is found in damaged
blood vessels.
Research also found that eggs contain cholesterol.
Research also found that the brain needs lots of cholesterol to
function.
What cholesterol comes from and how it gets where it goes - was NOT
researched.
It was always an assumption - not shown in any research - that
cholesterol in the diet had anything to do with heart disease.
So only if you believed the ASSUMPTIONS could you go wrong.
If you only read the research findings - they are still all correct.
More recent research shows:
Food cholesterol helps feed the brain what cholesterol it needs.
Damaging cholesterol is made by fat in the omentum from carbohydrates
dumped there as fat.
There is no contradictory research here anywhere - only assumptions
that are wrong.
Medical profession assumptions will lead you up the garden path all
the time. They are great at jumping to coclusions - especially if
it's done by a drug company with a chemical to peddle. (Statins etc -
which will damage the brain very quickly).
But the actual research findings do NOT support them. They are
assumptions.
Assumptions - not research findings:-)

Irene
