What all do you need to know to figure out all this rising house stuff. All I know is my birthdate.... no time. Apr 24
My son july 25 approx 5!30pm
Daughter jan 22. 2;27am
Is there a book or website to figure all this out. I am quite intrigued by this but my mom doesn't remember when I was born. Do I need and exact time or part of day like morning afternoon night ???

You need the birth time to find the rising sign/ascendant which changes hourly. The outer planets orbit slower, those closest to the sun faster, so within 24 hours not huge changes for many planets, one's chart can provide much info without birth time.
My legal birth time has me at Aquarius 0 degrees, but less than 30 seconds earlier puts me at 30 degrees Capricorn which I recently discovered is more accurate as I have had poor connection with Aquarians much better with Capricorns. So I use Capricorn as my rising as the clock in a hospital is not atomically accurate.
So accurate birth time is useful.

Before I delve to far I can't plead ignorance anymore... how much of what is written in the stars or planets is set in stone. Fate. Unchanging. Etc....
Is what is known just warning so you can be aware and change accordingly to change "fate"? Is free will still a truth. Can you still be master of you future no matter how dreaded your alignments are

A little misleading, Susan - - a Saturn return is experienced by everyone - 3 times in a life or so - around age 28-29, Age 58-60 and if live long enough, in your 80s
It is when Saturn has returned to the area of the sky where your natal Saturn is and that takes about 29.5 years

You only have a Saturn return every 29.5 years when Saturn has returned to the area of the sky where it was when you were born.

That's correct, Sheri, I've mixed terms, Saturn moves into a new sign every 2+ years which presents its own complications, pressures for those of the sign during that period. I was calling it return to a sign
Saturn Return is as written, every 29.5 years, 2-3 times in a lifetime and likely is not in your solar sign.

Hi Susan,

If you check the ephemeris you will see the planets (as well as the cusps)
are listed as 0 degrees 00 minutes thru 29 degrees 59 minutes. 30 degrees is not used.
