It's called naturopathy.

As far as "treating" rabies, I've never heard that successfully done,
except the recent case here in the US, and I don't know whether she's
actually recovered or not--the last they showed of her on the news, her
brain damage appeared to be really, really profound. So "treating"
rabies? Not much to say.

But the preventative shots are apparently effective--Hahnemannian, do
you know whether they sometimes fail, anything about that? So I would
have to call that less toxicity than from the virus.

Thanks for the added information.
I also find the reasoning really strange to say that microbes *can't*
cause illness--the "natural world" gives us predation and parasitism by
larger critters, so it seems a little bizarre to think that everything
small should be benign. Not to mention flying in the face of so many
observations. Thanks for your note of sanity in this "discussion".

Which camps--"pathogens cause disease" versus "pathogens are just
clean-up workers"?

Sure. The difference is that Pauline describes microbes playing in
some cases a causative or triggering role. (And by "causative" I am
talking only about intermediate cause; the "first cause" is beyond our
sight, as are many of the levels on the way toward that.)

Probably also not to a sufficiently "healthy" recipient.

Yet every "terrain" has its limits, and even a healthy person does have
susceptibilities to various things.
I'm familiar with some of that, and it's neat! (Since I do not share
Joy's antipathy for that sort of thing... ) I wonder if your
partner feels that his/her approach would be sufficient to cure rabies,
for instance? Do you know what sort of work s/he has done with
serious and violent acutes? (Yes I am skeptical that it could deal
with rabies; but am quite sincere in saying it would be wonderful to
test the approach with similar situations.)

You are right, it hasn't been the real core of the discussion but isn't
it amazing when someone comes on this list with such bold statements -
take the easy route and believe it all. There IS plenty of evidence of
potassium poisoning by the way (even in our MM's) and we know you
wouldn't use homeopathy to treat so called rabies and presumably the
kaliums wouldn't even get a consideration either, even below
stramonium, belladonna, lyssin etc. The convulsions of kali cyan are
furious, frothing at the mouth, then prolonged stupour then it begins
again, screaming madly then loss of consciousness. But what the heck,
let's get back to homeopathy, unless you want to post your extensive
knowledge on the potassiums. Interesting you bring up tetanus as it
would seem there is an even stronger link to potassium poisoning.

Frankly I am getting too annoyed at reading posts that are corrupting
mine and Sheri's, it is such a cheap trick and I really don't have the
time to justify and correct and well as contribute. My last on this
would be to say again that disease is an inability to adapt to a given
situation, the course of that disease and its original expression will
be due to susceptibility.

I feel obliged to answer posts that are addressed to me but no more
please, what else can i say but repeat myself and folk will be getting
bored, if not already. Joy

after biting by rabid dog, it takes more time to make viremy and get contagous through saliva. furthermore it can not pass barier of healthy skin. If you did not have any scratch, I believe no need to be worried.

should I take a prophylactic ?Anyone with experience ?

Or, (Sheri, please don't scold) can I take a vaccination ?
