How is this prohibition squared with the existence of so many books (not to mention studies) detailing e.g. arnica for bruises? Can your websites simply point people at the (online or physical) books and prescribing websites? With the note that, "Due to legal constraints, this is the best we are currently allowed to do..."?
Shannon
How would you do that?
My practice is my business, I am registered under Natura Medica Ltd, how is it possible to separate it in 2 entities, especially when not selling remedies, supplements or anything else?

And/or go the "anecdotal" route, and put up, and invite others to contribute, anecdotes of where this remedy *was* useful for that condition, together with remarks about what led to the choice of remedy? Surely it's not yet illegal to share experiences?

The Canadians have set up a web site and were going to include client testimonials. It is extraordinarymediicne .com. Possibly HAT should consider this idea as well and practitioners could include links to those sites, so you aren't "naming" any diseases. The same could go for a first aid site / page link to it.
Tanya, The US is taking the experience of the UK and now Canada to heart, look at NCH site and see how we are handling the denialists and their friends. Friday, at the NCH conference in April, will be all about contacting Congress, research- being part of research- where to find it, and other topics pertinent to homeopaths now. We can't stand still and let them attack us, we must be as polite and firm (as we discussed last month on this list), as well as stand together. HAA is doing everything it can to strengthen and shore up homeopathy in No America, so the attacks bear no fruit. Eric from the Pharmacists group reminded all of us that despite many "horrible" misleading and downright nasty articles, homeopathy is still growing. There are now requests from DC and acupuncturists, who want some sort of acute training and certification in homeopathy (something to add to their available modalities). We are popular with some folks. No matter how bad we think things are, people are starting to think for themselves and look for other ways to do things.

I think this would not be possible. The wording from the S of H website is:-
Specific remedies
You are not able to name specific remedies and indicate their usage on a website. Homeopathic remedies are unlicensed products, and it is not permitted to make claims of efficacy in relation to unlicensed products.

What if you somehow use it as a history lesson. I seem to remember reading in one of Dorothy Shepherd's book about how she used
first aid remedies during the war.
Surely there is a difference between providing information about Arnica for educational purposes, and advertising a product - 'Arnica 30c' with your business logo on it.
And there is always 'the ASA ruling forbids me from telling you that I use Arnica whenever I get a bruise and find it very effective.'
Gail

lol Gail!! But that gives me an idea. I could put quotes from Dorothy's or Boericke MM and say where they come from. I would still have to put the usual disclaimer on but it is certainly a thought if it comes to that!!

Actually - my First Aid page is published on Hpathy.com in one of their journals so maybe I could link to that if I have to,

I sometimes tell patients "I am NOT telling you NOT to take [drug X]; by the way, do you know what a double negative means in English?"
What, I cannot ask syntax questions to people to perfect my knowledge of English???????

Hi Joe,
One would have to keep separate affairs and separate accounts for the work that is done.
A company, which is seen as an entirely separate entity to an individual practitioner, could possible hold and display the information and educational material of a particular approach so you can use that as a source of information that you refer or link people to.
A company may also engage your services with you being paid a wage or contract amount. It may even rent clinic space and facilities to you.
Of course, this just provides you with some protection as a practitioner but won't protect the company if legislation is in place to stop it providing information on what homeopathy (or an therapy) can treat.
How would you do that?
My practice is my business, I am registered under Natura Medica Ltd, how is it possible to separate it in 2 entities, especially when not selling remedies, supplements or anything else?
