>A "subclinical proving" means "you won't notice it." :-)

Inaccurate. Perhaps you might not notice the same thing that I or
someone else who was engaged in a given instance of producing
subclinical proving might.
Inaccurate. It is, very simply, a temporary state of "medicinal
disease" (subclinical, as stated.)
this should be understood: "subclinical"
muddies the waters.. nothing "protective" -simply homeopathic action,
the very basis of homeopathy.
This bears discussion.
Where and as the "acute miasm" (infectious disease)
enters-in to the organism/being wo/man, often conditioned upon
pathways concurrent with
"chronic miasmatic predisposition" to disease
.. we may see, illuminated thus for our vision,
(most likely) the "uppermost" of what in many if not most persons now living
is a layer of chronic disease miasms.
This could be simply expressed as the differentiation between the
various Rx making up the "genus epidemicus" in epidemic acute miasm.
The Rx appropriate to the individual case, will invariably be
addressing the differentiations in the economy of the organism
(mind/emotion/physical body) .. which we may see expressed in
physiognomy and in the route of susceptibility; for instance whether
an epidemic influenza is expressed first in the lungs of one
individual; first in the intestine of another... and so on:
Keeping the attention on both chronic disease (miasm) and the acute
disease process, we may apprehend a fair bit about the chronic from
the acute.
The treatment of the acute, when pursued in this manner, is actually
the treatment of chronic disease as manifested in incident of acute.

That is your goal as a homeopath.
Practice it to the best of your ability.
Do not let it impede your efficiency in treating acutes while you are learning,
but let it be in the background, as your goal.
In some cases you may have little time,
but the more you practice the better you'll become, the less time required.
When you have time, review current / recent cases..
do you see the track of chronic disease?
It is a worthy goal, in my (sometimes) humble opinion

Hi Dave,

Have you done any reading about the results of his 20-year study
comparing children treated with his approach to others? It would be
more meaningful to discuss in that context.

First of all, there's MUCH that is "not homeopathy", and yet may be
very relevant to the *practice* of homeopathy, and may be important to
individual patients. I'd hoped that by saying "Okay it's not
homeopathy, it's homeoprophylaxis" (and I don't want to go further with
that definition) to just move past that. Honestly I don't care what
it's called. It *is* a different approach to using remedies, and the
name "homeopathy" encompasses many varieties. Honestly I don't care
whether this is considered one or not.
Fine. Then I'd say anyone not interested in discussing it, just skip
the post, use the delete key, whatever. I don't see the problem.
Ah, but it isn't.
Read Golden's study. It impacts very definitely on the matter of long
term chronic disease. Most of us would not be anxious to give our kids
prophylaxis against TB--at least in this country, most of us are not at
risk for it.
However, most of us DO have that in our ancestry, and that part of the
protocol helps toward rooting it out.
? I think I missed something. What tragic effects?
Sorry, where?
Read his study. Hundreds of kids, 20 years. That should give time to
see whether there's harm. If you want to *know*, you will read the
study. if you don't want to know, you should just say, "Sounds
suspicious to me, but I'm really not familiar with that body of work."

I don't know where this point comes from. Who was talking about
failing? Or are we now talking about something other than Golden's
work?

I agree.

And sometimes it inadvertently does both.
For example cats with chronic herpesvirus that recurs every time
there is any stress, tend to be cured of it if they use
homeoprophylaxis in lieu of vaccinations (URI 30C against all four
cat flu type illnesses including herpes) every 6 months for 2 and a
half years.
(Based on a few dozen cases).
They never get herpesvirus or other cat flu issues again.

These days I stop using homeoprophylaxis for cat flu after the cat
has had the protocol I use for 2 and a half years, based on the results.
As an example, my own cat group who are up to age 16 yrs now, all got
the prophylaxis for that time and then I stopped. None has ever had a
cat flu incident since. Statistically that is a very significant
result compared with any other group of cats.
Yes. Also, just as provers become more robust and healthy against
symptoms of what they prove (documented in the Organon) - such is the
same for homeoprophylaxis, which is like a proving without the
intensity needed for actual symptoms.
Thanks Fran,
Irene

I'm a homeopath who is not so blind as to deny the facts of science,
and look for the ways they can help to enhance my homeopathic
practice - which indeed they have done.
There is a difference between doing that and what you imply.
:-)
I see nothing to grin at, in your assumption that all findings in
research have anything to do with pharmaceutical companies and thus
are invalid. I say this, never having worked for a pharmaceutical
company, but having been involved in research myself quite
extensively before I discovered homeopathy. It puts me in a unique
position to sort the wheat from the chaff in research studies - and
so not to throw the baby out with the bathwater as you seem to find
necessary.
Then again if you bothered to integrate what's under the curve, you'd
see that there IS a connection.
We talk of "symptoms" in homeopathy. What are they if not part of
medical science?
You say all this and make no connection whatever between it and my work.
I have made "the point" many times in my posts, with homeopathy case
examples where death would have ensued had I not included some facts
derived from good research, to enable me to repertorize and select a
remedy with more accuracy towards the simillimum.
Perhaps you should address that statement. It describes "the point"
that you missed.
It is not only an MD who has knowledge to fuse with homeopathy
knowledge. We all have a life path that leads us to acquire what we
individually need to fulfil the area of work for which we are best
suited and for which we exist (such as an area in homeopathy).
Just as homeopathy is individualized, so too are homeopaths. We bring
different strengths to our health practice, to suit different needs
that we work to meet. It is not an excuse to criticize one over
another as being inappropriate - each is appropriate in its sphere of
application - and if we are wise, we learn from each other to enhance
that too, rather than ridiculing what we do not have.
Speak for yourself, it's not how I work.
Yes it does - read Fran's email.
Actually it is not.
Homeopathy works as well on plants and bees and cats as it does on
humans, and it is very short-sighted indeed not to learn from that.
What works in cats DOES work the SAME way in humans. So a cat with
its short lifetime can teach us a multitude of helpful lessons - even
if you wish to only help humans and not cats.
Like what are you referring to?
The only difference is in the need for different skills of
communication in the practitioner.
The actual homeopathy is the same.
Well if life span is so relevant to you in terms of those that
deserve help, perhaps you forgot the lifespan of turtles and some
others? Do you help them, or is there some other excuse for those who
live longer than man?
As is homeoprophylaxis .......
as is homeoprophylaxis.........
as is homeoprophylaxis too
it is there if you look for it
a sick assumption (and incorrect) from a soured viewpoint
Then with respect, you should care about homeoprophylaxis as that is
part of what works to oust chronic disease suffering.

Namaste,
Irene
