Since I just received an attachment I thought I would try to send photos of the psoriasis. One is from her arm and the other her back.

Hi Rochelle,

I took the following rubrics:

MIND - WEEPING - questioned; when
MIND - ANIMALS - love for animals
HEAD - PAIN - Vertex
SKIN - ERUPTIONS - scaly - silvery
SKIN - ERUPTIONS - cold - applications - amel.

The remedy that comes first is Nuphar Luteum. It is
the only remedy listed under SKIN - ERUPTIONS - scaly
- silvery (2)-source: T.F. Allen. Nuphar appears to be
a remedy indicated in Psoriasis when this is
associated with love /compassion for animals. I would
try to get more details of her "obsession" with dogs,
which seems to be a very strong sx. Nuphar has also
headaches localized in vertex (T.F. Allen).

I don't have any experience with this remedy and I was
wondering if anyone on the list has access to Wad
Stories by Jan Scholten, as this book has a chapter
dedicated to Nuphar Luteum written by Anne Wirtz.
Also, Dr. Jayesh Shah has conducted a proving of this
remedy and Riccardo Tomassini has published an article
about his experience with Nuphar in Homoeopathic Links
Issue 4/00. It would be great if anyone on the list
could share any information from these sources or
their own experience with us.

------------ ------

I first saw this child, then age 5 in October 02 as
her Mum wanted her
on my books after her previous homeopath (my good
friend and
supervisor) died. From that consultation: -

Pregnancy fine, birth overdue. She was induced because
there was
merconium appearing in the show. Delivered by
Caesarean. Breast fed
until 17months. Health was good other than colic
between 6-8pm for a
few months. Was taken to the homeopath for teething

Teething - average to slow

Walking- over 1 year

Talking -average

She was prescribed Puls 200 at 1 year, Bell for fever
and when she had
Rubella she had Calc 30 and stayed on that virtually
ever since. She
was given Calc Sulph at age 3 for jealousy after she
had a rash when
her brother was born and the same for Chicken pox. She
was then given
Calc 200 when she had a white tongue with a red tip
and Ars when
ulcers near her lips. This was all from her previous
homeopath. I did
not prescribe at that time. She appeared laid back
then and still is.

I next saw her age 8 because she was "run down". She
has had a cough
and then red blotches appeared. Mum gave her Calc 30
which got rid of
the cough. The eruption went away when Mum cut out
dairy. I prescribed
Calc 200. After the Calc she went droopy like a recent
bug then felt
better. 2 weeks later she had a tickly cough,
headaches - the
modalities were Sulphur which I gave in a 30 C - she
got better. I saw
her next June 06 - now age 9 because she has had
headaches and a sore
throat, can't get to sleep because thinking of too
many things. Calc 200.

I last saw this child in September 06 when Mum brought
her to me
because she has odd spots on her body with silvery
flakes which her
dad thinks maybe the start of the psoriasis that he
has. It started
when she went back to school after the holidays. Other
than that she
appeared more confident than when I saw her in June
and has stopped
going into her mum's bed when she couldn't sleep when
she was excited
about what was happening the next day. She was
sleeping well. I
prescribed a Calc 1M.

14th March 2007

She fell down the stairs a month ago and hurt her
coccyx. Mum gave
Arnica. It got better but thinks it maybe getting
slightly worse again.

The Calc 1M she had 6 months ago changed the psoriasis
into bigger
circular eruptions on her left arm (not the joints).
The eruptions are
circular, red with silvery dry scales about the size
of a very large
coin and on some of the scales look yellowy but this
may be because of
ointment dad put on once. They itch sometimes, no
discharge and can be
sore. We don't know at the moment if it is
winter /summer.
Sometimes when then are sore she will put cold water
on them to soothe
it. No modalities I could get out of her.

She feels fit and well in herself .

Her lips look dry and red.

She arrived with a mild headache inside the vertex.
She couldn't
describe it. (I EFT'd it away!!)

She is still not eating dairy.

I decided to retake the case.

She is tall for her age, average build, with a pale
freckly skin. She
has a couple of birthmarks which look like naevi .

She is artistic, creative, kind, generous and patient
and still very
laid back.

She is obsessed with dogs at the moment - drawing
them.

She likes company but will also go to her bedroom on
her own.

Not sensitive to music and not into dancing.

Fears - none that we could find- not bothered being in
the house on
her own.

Food - no real likes- desires bananas, or dislikes
except Brussels
sprouts.

Gets car sick sometimes- can't read in a car.

She is chilly

Knows her own mind. Consolation amel.

The strange thing is that when I ask this child a
question she can't
give me an answer. She just says nothing and if I push
her too much
she will dissolve into tears. (she has done on
previous occasions) It
is as if she doesn't know the answer. Mum says she is
very clever at
school and there are no problems there. Mum phoned me
back when she
got home to try to explain to me that she thinks she
doesn't answer
straight away because she can't think , and feels put
on the spot and
her mind goes blank. Mum says that she herself can get
like this. Mum
also says that she is not such a cuddly affectionate
child as she was.

I'm curious about this one (suggested by several people). Yet she
doesn't weep from the *questioning*, but rather when she is pressed for
answers that she doesn't have (or can't frame). Is that really the
same thing?

I had an experience with a patient who was ultimately cured by Nuphar. It
was a very difficult case to figure out, although Crot-c and Cench had
helped to a fair extent without curing. The chief complaint was obsessive
compulsive disorder with extreme anger -- shrieking with rage and punching
holes in the wallm for instance. Total sleep disturbance. Could sleep only
during the day. Had to go through hours of rituals before going to bed, to
keep him feeling safer. Occasional eruptions like flea bites. No psoriasis.
No digestive sx or chilliness (not Verat). Total guilt about harming even a
mosquito. Sexual issues: Was in a sexual relationship, but never
consommated it by intercourse -- allowed only mutual masturbation. Had
tremendous guilt about things sexual. Believed that he heard and saw angels
and devils and was chosen by God as a messenger. Thought constantly and
angrily about his father's treatment of him as an adolescent -- he felt his
father had shamed him purposefully in front of friends by making him stay
home and finish responsibilities before going off to hang out. Was a musical
performer (rock musician) and wore makeup in daily life as well as on
stage -- hiding his real self. Was obsessed with the idea of being too old
(36). Despite the rage and obsessiveness, he was really a sweet, kind,
sensitive, considerate person (which, by the time the snake remedies had
finished, I knew about him, making me think about possible plant remedies).
After Nuphar, which I chose after the Cench failed, based on the violent
rage with sexual obsessions, what became clear for the first time was that
his father and sister had sexually abused him as a young child. Once that
rose to consciousness and came out, the patient recovered, has married
(with sex), is thinking of having children, and is doing well in his career.
The OCD is gone. There's so little information available about Nuphar that
I would never have chosen it first.

I think you should try Nuphar Luteum

I have been looking at Nuphar and it looks good as far as the skin symptoms
are concerned but violent itching seems to be there. Do you think I could
still try it in a 6C? I will have to order it.

Good Grief!

On this repertorisation how does one get to Nuphar? (unless my repertory is
very much out of date.)

Firstly this child does not weep when questioned.
If this was the case, with any question she would weep.
She only weeps when she is not able to answer. It is a kind of frustration
perhaps
No Nuphar!

Then because she draws pictures of dogs, that does not indicate LOVE for
ANIMALS - and even if it was, WHY DOES THIS NEED TO BE CURED?
Is she drawing at the expense of everything else? If so, then drawing
should be the subject of our attn.
Nuph has "Acute pain on seeing animals suffer"
No Nuphar.

Then we have Head Pain Vertex - Where is Nuph in that?

And why would you describe her skin problem as SKIN - ERUPTIONS - scaly -
silvery? From your photos I could see no evidence of any silvery attribute!

I do not have the last rubric in my repertory - but let us assume that Nuph
is there.

It means that if we choose Nuph we are treating a particular and not the
WHOLE.

Dear Joy ,
I have now had a good read of Kali S and I can see what you are getting at re its connection with Puls. Reading Clarke I note that Hanson cured a case of psoriasis with a 3x . However it seems to be a remedy for the very warm blooded - she appears to be chilly,- and have a lot of yellowish discharges of which there appear to be none. I am going to speak to Mum about ear infections as Mum suffers from these. It is always possible that Mum has treated the child's ear problems with homeopathy herself.
