Since I do not consider his approach based on Hahnemannian teachings,

that there is more waffle to the approach than the traditional
approach where I take the whole case, look for rare and peculiars and
also pathology before prescribing,

that the way of arriving the remedy ( by looking at the saree worn or
if the patient wears a Naja spectacles etc.)is specious in most
circumstances,

that I consider the sensations, modalities and concomitants to be of
more importance than theories of delusion

that I consider the facts and concomitant occurrence of disjointed
phenomena and comparing these to a genuine materia medica a more
appropriate approach to get the key to the case than constructing
theories of what happened when and using synthetic symptoms and
extending the meanings of symptoms with suspect interpretations

that I do not like the ways he has corrupted the way remedies are
proven and I do not give credence to his seminar provings, group
provings etc.

that apart from a few streaks of brilliance that have attracted people
and improved the understanding of some remedies and approach, his
continued "creativity" has done and is doing more harm than good to
the spread and real acceptance of homeopathy amongst the masses and
among the peers from other systems of medicine.

These are of course my opinions and your interpretation might be
different. I had been practising from 10 years before he published his
first work and was able to good solid practice without any of the
fancy foot work involved.

While I know that this kind of thing *can* happen, it seems to be an
unusual happening, and there seem to be specific circumstances that
make the risk greater--e.g. if the patient is very ill to begin with;
and/or unusually sensitive to remedies; and/or potencies are high;
and/or the remedy (whether combo or other) is used very frequently and
over a long period of time, especially if it is used without guidance
so that "early warning signs" are missed. Do you know which (if any,
or other) of these might have applied to the people you heard about who

i had a thought about how other protocols deal with dissent this morning.
in this country the tendency is for some central monitoring organization or
board to come into being that is made up of people in the particular
practice.
this board comes to set the standards of practice and polices itself. often
the practice becomes very cultist, only talking to itself and only taking
direction from within. think about the ama and how it works. researchers
who promote unpopular theories or research suddenly find themselves
without a publisher. look at all the research on vaccine dangers or aids
which goes against the drug companies and the currently supported
theories. most of it is kept out of the press and is handled with
professional
and financial ostracism. however, if the case involves some specific that
can be used to scare the public away from holistic health modalities, then
it might hit the newstands.

i am recalling a case of a doctor in my area who promoted home birth
for women. he was pretty open and vocal about it. a few years ago
there were charges brought against him for some bogus mishap that
allegedly occurred. the ama revoked his license to practice medicine.
that one made the press since it concerned the attack on a maverick
doctor who promoted naturalistic practice. i think it was jethro kloss
many, many moons ago who was brought up on charges of murder
for using herbs. he allegedly killed this woman using lobelia. despite
the fact that so many came forward to acclaim his healing abilities, and
the woman who presumably was killed took the witness stand in good
health, he was condemned and lobelia became listed as a poison herb.

Well-trained, single remedy classical prescribers have been known to
fail as well...
If we are looking for the method that "never fails", I hope someone
will tell me when they've found it!

but that is true even when classical approach is used. if the rx doesnt
work, people turn off to the modality. of course they dont see the
contradiction in how they use allopathic practitioners. in that case, they
will look for another practitioner if they dont get good results from the
first.
as a matter of fact, they will go from allopath to allopath, and specialty
to
specialty without questioning the efficacy of the paradigm.

an noone has yet spoken of the seduction of health insurance and how it
limits access to all holisitc modalities.

it is the fact that homeopathy has been maligned by the drug and allopathic
community since its inception. look at the history of chiropractic. in
the usa
there was a 10 yr legal feud between the allopaths and chiropractors. i
think
this occurred in the 1970-80's. after 10 yrs the courts ruled that
allopaths
were to cease and desist maligning chiropractors. this has still not
happened
as per several personal experiences since that court ruling.

Yes indeed! Some people can *afford* to pay out-of-pocket to get the
care they really need and want, and for those, again I feel that
"education" is paramount. They need to understand why it is *worth it*
to pay more (at least in the short run), but get in fact a better
result.

Ah, but the situation re chiropractic *has* improved, really hugely!
That court ruling *did* make a very measurable difference. Very much
so. Why can't we do the same... If the chiropractors had been busy
chewing each others' legs off, I'm sure they couldn't have pulled it
off, and until *we* pull together better, we won't be able to either.

This is another time where I *hear* of it. I have *heard of it* mayn
times before, but strangely enough the only sources of such
information have been classical homeopaths. This also, b.t.w. applies
to "clinical homeopathy" - call it the "this for that" approach.

I have never heard it from people who, not having talked to classicals
before, have reported so. An believe me, having lived in probably
*the* country of combo medicines, i.e. Germany for all those many
decades that both myself and those combos have been around, I would
have many chances to have heard of it:-)

Have you studied Sankaran's approach, because when you say this, I wonder.
have you read his books (including "Sensation in Homeopathy" and Insight
into Plants 1&2)?
As does Sankaran (read "Sensations").
I don't think Sankaran does this.
There are certainly more than a few streaks. As for promoting to the
masses, that is not what he is trying to do. He presents his method in a
clear format, in a well structured way and with many excellent cases ( in
the books mentioned). He also states clearly that it is not the only
method. I have just found it a highly practical method which has helped in
many of my cases. And I am not dogmmatic about it.
No doubt, but if you look at many of the cases he teaches, these are cases
that have not responded well to previous remedies, prescribed by competent
homeopaths, often using the "tried and tested" methods of case taking,
analyzing and repertorizing. So you can use traditional methods, but when
you fail, there is another way to go. And you only become proficient in the
method if you study and use it.

Have you attended any of his seminars and/or read his books?

I am not arguing here - but in India ayurveda has been practised for
more than 2000 years and the combinations that they are using ( mainly
of herbs) are not different much from what we use in low potency
combinations...and people have been gobbling up for millennia mostly
without side effects...

Also, if the combinations make people that sick, homeo pharmacies that
make them would have long gone out of business- I thought that they
are still making them only because they are profitable ( meaning
people buy them)- they are not going to make much money out of single
medicine, single dose prescriptions ( at least in India).

If the combinations can make people sick that much then they must be
pretty powerful stuff - I wonder may be a decrease in dosage or a
higher dilution might make it a wonderful addition to our arsenal ( at
least better than creating something using meditation)
