I was wondering what the group think about Variolinum and Varicella for post shingles neuralgia?

Homoeopathy suaully works - ispite of drugs. The medicines I have
found most useful in post herpetic neuralgia include Phos, Mezerium,
Ran-b, Carbn -oxy.

I know others who have cured the condition with remedies such as Sepia
and Calc-p.

It usually does not go away with constitutional remedy.

Best regards
Elham

only if the symptom picture fits - nothing routine should be given without matching

I'm not certain I agree with Sheri. Though routine administration of Varicella should not be given for post-herpetic neuralgia, if there is an obvious block after taking the well-indicated remedy, then utilizing this very powerful nosode can work beautifully to clear the terrain. There may not be a clear symptom picture for a nosode, it is vital to discover hx, nws, etc. in order to ascertain whether or not this nosode would be appropriate.
Best,
Lisa

I didn't see any posting about a block where you would go to a nosode and Rochelle doesn't give remedies in water usually - did you give this in water?

Of course if all you say is there, Lisa, then it may be indicated. But it was just something I saw thrown out there by Rochelle, not with any indication of a block

Yes I did just throw it out there for discussion and yes I usually give a dry dose but I do sometimes give in water especially if I feel the remedy needs to be repeated frequently.
