Yes, three rooms with walls plus floors removed 40+ in this rescue cattery. Remediation team zippered-off entry way to damaged areas but kitties figured out how to unzip the plastic doorways. Many have intestinal symptoms w/ the upheaval.

A friend brought her kitty to veterinary ICU at 3 this morning and is at
a loss for what to do. Marley is on oxygen for extreme shortness of breath and has a galloping heart rhythm, they thought perhaps cardiomyopathy.
He's not stable to transfer to a Cardiology Vet.
She doesn't give up easily on a kitty, and rarely puts a kitty to sleep.The bill is already more than is affordable but she wants to do all she can for him if there are hopeful options.
This friend's household has been under extreme stress for the past month, this could be in part a reaction to the stress. She's living in a motel while a third of her house was demolished, treated for water damage and mold and is now being rebuilt. Her kitties had to be confined to much smaller areas than they are used to, and the constant noise and constant schedule changes are taking a toll on all of them. She is an RN and is a Feline Rescue now without any income until the house is back to normal and she returns to work. She's very receptive to suggestions from anyone who has had experience with rapid heart symptoms in kitties without having to move Marley as he is on oxygen.

Thank you. CBC panel iron was normal. I will read up on feline iron deficiency anemia for the future. There is a Ferr phos dosing protocol in Catwell files.

Hi Nan,

Coming to this a bit late, but although I agree that it would be better to have a full case, I can also see you have an emergency going on here. Going by the symptoms and the whole environmental situation you are describing, I would start with several doses of Aconitum nap. 30C. If you are not getting any calming from that, proceed to Arsenicum alb. 30C (which may be appropriate to do even if you do get initial calming, but not maintaining the calm). The Aconitum should be used up to 4-5 times every 5-10 minutes. If it starts working, you can continue using it, but only when it starts to fail. If it keeps failing (more than 5-6 times) then move on to the Arsenicum. This is also a remedy you can repeat. At first, if you are not getting a response to it, repeat it every 15 minutes or so, until you do. Up to 6 times. Once the kitty starts responding, only repeat as needed, if the remedy is failing consistently. Which means, that even if it seems like its failing, don't jump into the next dose right away. Wait a few minutes and see what develops. It may cause a temporary aggravation, which is not a failing but a healing response. You want to see that through and not interrupt it with another dose too soon.
You may find that alternating between the Aconitum and the Arsenicum produces even better results. If you do this, wait about 15 minutes between doses and keep watching for changes.
Finally, if neither of the above are working (separately or in combination), it may be time to go to a Nux vomica 30C. Only repeat that one, if you have an initial improvement, but then it starts failing again after a good while (at least an hour or so).

Just remember to remain calm and "feel" your way through the steps. Watch for the changes and follow your intuition. Remember, fear and panic block intuition, so just take deep breaths, quiet your mind and stay calm.

I didn’t know there was/is a “Vet list”…. I have all digital records I would like someone to look at. There is always the underlying distrust of non-homeopathic treatment. My 10 1/2 year old PBGV has a leaky heart valve. His behavior is so un-Walter that I don’t know what to do. I was giving him Crategus Gemmo along with the “stuff” the vet gave me, and it didn’t seem to help. Now he’s losing weight/boney/muscle loss and today (yesterday) he wouldn’t eat — his former best thing to do!! I took him to the Pet Cardia group in Denver/Wheatridge 2 times. Those big pharma... pills aren’t doing anything to help him as far as I can tell.

Before I took him for the testing the 2nd time I called the ONLY local vet homeopath that I heard was supposed to be amazing. She said, via her office manager: “You’ve got the testing and everything you need. I think it would be a mistake to switch to homeopathy now! " I was shocked. I don’t know how this woman gained such a good reputation as a homeopathic vet, but she doesn’t even believe in her own choice of using homeopathy vs. the pharma pills. He was doing pretty well before the last tests and the addition of that pill Lasix (sp) and the same dose of the other phemo…(((whatever it is))) pill. It is just destroying me to watch him decline and love him so much while not being able to do anything to really help.

I sure don’t want him to suffer, but the dog who won’t eat is my former guy who wouldn’t stop eating his raw meat like a champ, He is my champ, but I don’t know what to do. I know I can’t let him suffer… but I can’t even tell if he’s suffering because sometimes he’s the old/high energy/bouncy/funny dog who makes me laugh and then today when he won’t eat. He was pulling on the leash yesterday for me to keep up with him! Today he ate very little, even when I got him the best steak I could find… and several short (compared to normal) walks… just shorter and slower… but still walking. I can’t tell if his body is shutting down and his life is about over… Tell me the signs please. Should I just give up thinking he will get better again? This may be the ultimate enlightened moment/lesson/experience for me in this lifetime to seriously understand and embrace the eternal life I believe in for humans and our animals.

This is so painful… and I’m glad you guys brought animals and heart disease up because I haven’t known what to do or what to think as everything leading toward a new life suddenly crept up on me after the last series of tests.

Thanks all… I don’t think any MIRACLE healing is going to take place, but I’m trying to keep up the scheduled meds and timing of pills… and take him out at all hours of the day and night. I don’t think there is anything I can do except keep loving and staying with him, huh?

For all who offered advice and love to my dog Walter, thank you. He left his body on July 1st as one of smartest (he understood English) and was truly a really special dog. What a struggle he went through, but he will always be with me.
