Re: Guess the remedy

Post by Dale Moss »

I was an historian in my prior life. So I do research, lots of it. I’ve compiled my own materia medica, with a focus on cases, because that’s how I learn remedies.

This remedy I’ve used only once, on a cat poisoned by prednisone. But I think it potentially has fairly wide application. Has anyone come up with an answer?

Peace,
Dale

Repertorizing was a waste as you suggested. The only rubrics with this remedy in my older MAcRepertory are
MIND; LEARNING; difficult (27) *

MIND; MEMORY; weakness, loss of (363) *

GENERALITIES; CONVALESCENCE, ailments during (69) *

GENERALITIES; CONVALESCENCE, ailments during; post-influenzal (9) *

GENERALITIES; INTOXICATION; general (100) ***

GENERALITIES; PSORA (217) *

GENERALITIES; TOBACCO; agg. (118) *

GENERALITIES; TOBACCO; nicotinism (4) *

GENERALITIES; WEAKNESS, enervation, exhaustion, prostration, infirmity (809) *

GENERALITIES; WEAKNESS, enervation, exhaustion, prostration, infirmity; mental exertion, occupation; agg. (90) *
The general Intoxication rubric would have been the one to search remedy by remedy, all 100 of them. The aggravation from tobacco and nicotine is a very interesting point, too.

As with the previous quizzes, I know this would have been hard to find for a case, even though I have been presented with this remedy in study.
What I searched was a variety of words in Reference works until I was led to read this remedy through this search:
Wheat/gluten in the same sentence as poisoning/allergic: agro., amyg-d., aur-ar., 3Carb-an., iod., lac-lox-a., lath., lyc., nat-m., 2okou., pimp-a., plut-n., sec., ther., tyto-a.
There I found your words, exactly. Thanks for stimulating me to do this search and reading!

You are so cool Dale. A materia medica of cases. And one you compiled yourself! Wow!!

Here is another little remedy, which is almost a specific (if I am permitted to use that word)

It has been recommended for many things including prolapse of uterus, eczema, arthritis.
can you guess what remedy it is?

Best regards

Dale--

Oh that sounds like a gem!
Have you published it, or will you be?

Hi, Shannon

I appreciate your interest, but this MM is HUGE — some remedies have 50 pages or more… and that’s in 10 point type! No publisher would touch it. I started on this many years ago as a means of learning remedies but also because I found MMs like Boericke so inconsistent in their organization. That made it difficult to compare remedies.

Each entry starts with a summation of various homeopaths’ takes on the remedy, followed by a traditional MM, followed by information on the source, then cases. Mostly it’s a cut & paste job that draws from Reference Works, IFH, Links, various websites and seminars. With a slew of cases it’s easier to see the forest for the trees.

Peace,
Dale

Yes!!!!
What about making it available through (preferably ALL of) the online repping and/or materia media sources?
With acknowledgements to and permissions from the places you’ve cut-and-pasted to… Sounds like a huge task, but such a tragedy not to!
