about quitting smoking, Loretta Butehorn is doing a lot of work with addictions of every sort and it seems that repeated doses of Nux help a lot with the withdrawal (physical) aspects of quitting nearly anything. the habit, that's a separate problem.

I repeated the remedy when it stopped working. This is an acute and burns out remedies pretty fast sometimes.

With smoking Caladium usually does the trick. Suck Calad 12 when you want a cigarette and apparently if you do smoke one it tastes horrible!!

In my experience, if I may.....I leave the addictions alone for starters even if this is the reason for consultation.

I consider that very often the cigarettes/drugs are crutches. I explain that to the patient and we then delve deeply into the reasons for using those substances. Once this is accomplished, and it may take a lot of time, quite regularly the need for the drugs disappears; only the social habit has to be dealt with, if at all.

I have tried the other way around, with a lot of failures.

Joe.

Thanks Joe, that's is what I have been doing myself. I feel tobacco, marijuana, sugar, coffee etc are attempts at self medicating and besides a mild suggestion to the client I pretty much consider the condition but no longer try to treat it.

I notice that hypothyroid cases will not need so much sugar when the issue is addressed.

One of my clients said she would drive five to ten minutes out of her way to get doughnuts when her thyroid hormone was low, but never even wants any sugar when she takes her thyroid remedy as directed.

The days prior to getting sick it was unseasonably warm in northern PA. The temp was in the 50's for about 4 days. It then turned very cold and windy. We are still in the cold windy stage with a bit of ice/freezing rain yesterday.
My cough is still there but I'm breathing much better now. I am not getting shortness of breath during activity now.

When I blow my nose now, there are some specks of blood and the mucous seems thicker now.

I am so tired of coughing and not getting a good nights sleep.
