you can dry them out, away from the sun and store them. they can be used in tea.

I just eat ripe red hips straight off the bush.

The hip is the fruit of the rose (sort of a hard, dry berry-like thing), and easiest way to prepare it would be as tea. I don't know about the rest, tho. Shannon
Along this line, does anyone know how the prepare rose hips for the vit C. I have read, these are some of the best sources for vit c complex that is needed, more that just the isolated vit c typically sold. When do you harvest, what part is used and how to prepare and typical daily dosing??
Thanks

Yes, it is excellent. I have passed it around to many people and groups.
Relative to this discussion, many supplements are made from GMO corn.
Most Vit C for example is from GMO corn. It pays to take some time to call
the mftr before buying supplements to see what they are using.
There is a chemist, Dr. Judd, who has an extensive website on dealing with teeth health.
Magnesium is one supplement that he recommends strongly, along with Vit C.
He suggests a product that is free from all additives (sounds good, huh?) and it is
cheap. A call to the company told me that they got it from China and that it was
GMO free, but they did not test it. They are relying on govt inspectors who do not
do any testing. We know that the number of inspectors was never sufficient, and
with cut backs is even lower. I did not buy from them, but did get Mag citrate from
Solgar even tho is had fillers.

Watch the film genetic roulette before tomorrow and it gives some insite to how the GMO crops along with round up are causing serious problems with our bodies to absorb nutrients. It is free to watch on the internet until sunday so let your family and friends know. It a very good movie.

There seems to be growing interest in Magnesium. As with Vit D, tests are
showing major deficiencies in the American public due to soil depletion and
rotten eating habits.
What about magnesium citrate as a form of Mag supplement?
I would also look at taking a probiotic supplement and paying attention
to diet in this regard. Fermented foods (real organic soy sauce, cidar vinegar,
pickles, yogurt, etc) are good sources for building probiotics.
Also, need to become more conscious of GMO in foods as they will destroy
the good gut bacteria and show to have destructive impact on digestion and
intestinal wall integrity.
