I was much more aggressive than you covering the entire carpet around the couch and chair and all over the dining room and kitchen floors.
But why use something so messy when I have what to use safely, cleanly and quickly. I have written before about an enzyme product that has

? Yes should not inhale it, but it's awfully easy to use it without inhaling... It's widely used, in gardens and even as a feed additive. Liz, where have you heard it described as dangerous?

I know the amount of silica is regulated by law as it's so abrasive (like asbestos it's bad for the lungs) Plus, several people on the CATWELL group have said how dangerous it is. It's often recommended for fleas, but they always say not to touch it.

If you do use it, it needs to be food grade which no one has noted in this discussion.
I am not that worried about its healthfulness--it just hasn't proved efficacious and I have
other alternatives.

Hi Paul,

Funnily enough (oh, I am SO not laughing) we seem to have acquired bedbugs of our own to try your method on... I'm curious why you didn't feel plain ol' dosing potency, rather than medicating potency, would have done as well? Was that just for the sake of alcohol evaporating faster? I'd have thought one would work as well as another for the purpose?

(Also--*did* it seem that you proved it, or was that just a theoretical consideration?)

I have used a material product for bedbugs which seemed to work but in a city apartment building
the buggers returned because the neighbors did not do the treatment, too. unfortunatly the building
has decided to hire an exterminator with his toxic sprays.

What did you use?

It's a product called Safe Solutions. Ingredients include enzymes, peppermint, some borax, and
a bit of detergent which breaks the shell of the buggers. I have used it for fleas, too, very successfully.
It is a great cleaner for anything organic as well.
