Return of Symptoms - sometimes the client forgets to tell you all you need to know and you do need to know otherwise you could mess up the case. You were ill advised to give 30 c daily if a daily dose was not appropriate.

But you need time to pass to get a definite situation where there are aggravations (of existing sx, otherwise it isn't an aggravation) with no amelioration and if that is truly the case and not ROS from any time before then the potency and/or dose has been so wrong that a proving is occurring.

For aggravations to occur these can only be with existing sx or ROS which are actually very good signs but you do want them to pass and in time, if they do and then >>> takes place you have the simillimum.

If new sx appear without any amelioration you have to make sure the client is open minded and telling you all you need to know, you really need to enquire as to whether they are not better in any way at all as this can make a huge difference in understanding the case.

Best not to mistake NEW sx with aggravations - they are not the same thing at all.

The permutations that can take place after the first prescription are not limitless but you do need to know what they are, pertaining to the individual as well.

"Proving" = "dissimilar aggravation", no?

An aggravation of what though - you only conduct proving on people with relative health

How would you define the term "dissimilar aggravation"?

It's risky to pass judgment without knowing the facts.
Please let's stick to sharing what we *know*, instead of bashing what we don't know.

It is damn risky to go against what Hahnemann instructed and we do know that giving a 30c daily is not to be assumed good practice - ยง 146 'be judicious when employing rx' and then of course he gives clear instructions in the Organon on how to administer rx (his preferred advanced methods, i.e. LM's) - there is no need to have a situation whereby you cannot tell what is going on in a case because you have given, unnecessarily, too many doses.

Besides, Vera's being wholesomely humorous imo

Taken on board, thanks. :-)

But I am still curious about the terminology issue--how do you define "dissimilar aggravation"?

This is when you impose a new disease onto the client, on top of the 'other' one, the natural - can only really happen with injudicious prescribing. If a client happens to be sensitive to the wrong rx they will only react really badly if they are extremely sensitive (and you should be able to deduce that from careful case taking) and will react to dry potency or simply wrong chosen potency, or that they had unnecessary repetition imposed on them.

Totally unnecessary for this to happen. For de Schepper fans he writes consistently about this in his books but then so does Hahnemann!
