what experiences do people have in creating hyposensitivity--where no remedy seems
to be able to work?

I've tended to do one of two things - encourage further dilution, olfaction (swift), and secondly, several cases I decided or realised that the totality of the case at that time was indeed the sensitivity and its potential causes and prescribed for that before going any further. Excellent results with remedies such as Kali phos (and other kaliums), Phos-ac and Ignatia, Carcinosin + others I can't remember without checking.

There are also rubrics that cover this sensitivity to medicines.

I think that hyper and hypo can be linked depending on what you mean by
hypo. To give you an example with my own case, I am so sensitive to
remedies that even well selected remedies start to prove on me and make
me feel terrible - even using water, minimal dose, following Hahnemann's
instructions, etc or sniffing the remedy. I am at the stage where I
really can't face taking any remedies, though I am happy to use them for
my animals. When dosing my animals I use surgical gloves and make sure
that I keep as much of myself covered as possible in order to lessen the
chance of me getting any remedy on myself. I seem to recall that David
Little has discussed this sort of scenario on the list in the past where
patients are so sensitive they become almost incurable, or possibly it
was in his course archives - perhaps someone with a better memory than
me will know.

By hyposensitivity I mean lack of reaction or difficulty getting a reaction. For myself,
I reacted pretty well to a good remedy years ago. Now it is almost impossible to get
any reaction to remedies. Of course it might be that people are not perceiving my
case correctly. But previously, even remedies that were tangential had good effect
but only short term on core issues while effecting the more superficial ones long term.
It has been a few years since I have had any remedy that impacted me. I have to
wonder about that process.
I do recall many years ago a conversation in a class that noted that after some time
remedies began to work much more subtley. If that is the case, then the subtley with
myself must be on a very subconscious level.

Gosh, I read this as hyper and replied accordingly before as it is part of aggravation thread. Sorry.

We have rx that deal with lack of reaction, nosodes often come into play. Can be blocks in the case, wrong rx as you suggest. As a rule of thumb (but you have to go with each individual case) I tend to think that the simillimum has not been prescribed. Re-take the case, and keep re-taking it if no reaction. Refer to another homeopath after that :-) Time can be of the essence and another homeopath might 'see' the case better.

Hi Tanya,

I don't know if this is the issue in your case, but I have seen that during the early years of treatment in a case, you can get response, and even a certain degree of healing, from remedies that are only tangential, but as things move on, it's as tho the body says Okay, enough playing around, find me what I *really* need!

I wonder whether e.g. one of the "unblocker" or "universal" remedies could start things moving again?

Have you tried just holding the glass vial in your hand?

Hi Sherri,

Are you adressing this question to me, or to the group in general? My
post does talk about different dose sizes, eg : a sniff, one drop. It
also talks about a specific potency that I reacted to.

Gail.

Other than the sniff or drop
What dose do you use? (not potency, dose)

I have had reactions from putting the vial in my pocket and leaving it
there for a short time. I now handle the bottles for as short a time as
possible.
