Just please note, that's not me! That's *Rik*, whose last name is
Nash-Shannon.
I just don't want to be mixed up in his commentary!

If I remember correctly I think Hahnemann was pretty long winded along with HC Allen. Were they haranguing?
Either the skin on my back is really thick or I dont really understand "nastiness". I guess it's a matter of perception.
Maybe a new thread would help us all define the true meanings of proper etiquette, civility, niceties etc. Or maybe we could just get back to discussing Homeopathy. There appear to be many more people willing to engage the process as it is than the naysayers and those so easily offended. It seems that the folks who are the most vocal about how horrible the vicious attacks are, are not even involved in the threads.......
Irene, Shannon, Soroush, Louise, Chris, Dale, John, Dave etc are all of the ones involved in the heated debate and they are all still here after years of this. I think thats a pretty good indication for me of who can take the heat of the kitchen and who can't.
No really just hit delete, even in digest form you can see the names of the person posting yada, yada, yada......
Best regards, Rik

Ok perhaps my statement was too blankety and I too was just too annoyed with long diatribes over something so plainly simple and I think the more that is said , the more fallacious statements come out .Anyway H2002 seem to have the patience to reply.
I just hope this list can be saved from extinction ..which is the fate of TOL on lyghtforce which used to be a very active list back in the late 90ies.
People just kept jumping ship until that list is now a ghost town ...

Hm, there's much here that I "won't comment" on, but--
Item 1: "This" had been peaceful, friendly, just fine for perhaps the
last couple of years.
Item 2: I've been within one or two tragically addicted nerve fibres
of jumping ship on several occasions, so please don't use me as
illustration of it not being that bad! By now even my addicted nerve
fibres have gotten pretty well fried by all the flames, so there's not
much left holding me here. (Which will cause no tears in some
quarters, I know.) But I have loved this list, so am giving Soroush's
recent efforts a chance.
Item 3: Have you ever *been* on digest? Try it out for a few days.
(Two days was all I could take of it!)

Perhaps you haven't been on this list long enough then. In the early days there were often heated debates and they have come and gone all the time.

i disagree with the view that some of the 'best' voices have remained.
1. out of over 2000 members naming only half dozen people doesn't
2. most often only a very few people speak out on any given issue
3. many people leave lists as quietly as they were while listening to
others.
4. many people leave lists over this kind of hostility. there is a big
difference
5. i personally have stopped responding due to the uselessness of
discussion
to please dont take credit for supporting the list, meaningful discussion or
homeopathy. the rudeness and personal attacks do exactly the opposite on
all accounts.

No, this has been the situation for as long as I can remember, very large numbers. if you don't want to receive emails you have preferences for that and if your server is down that long (you can tell how long anyone has been bouncing from the date) - then best to change server!
