where do you live?
my dentist is literally an artist and has done some remarkable bridge work
for me--this after 2 others butchered my mouth causing extensive damage to
my teeth. the crowns are not metal, but forget what the posts are. the removable
bridge has a titanium base.

I was wondering why I didn't need a night light anymore. My quick Google research shows much written on using zirconium ceramics in dentistry and awareness that it is naturally radioactive but supposedly it is processed to be non-radioactive. Mostly zirconium oxide or dioxide, some ytrium stablized is used. Some Chinese dental labs make questionable zirconium dental material imported by cheap dental labs. It's highest rated for biocompatibility on human tissue, tensile strength, longevity. Being used more in hip replacements.
I could easily have them replaced as I had a choice of crowns like porcelain, gold, etc. but would want to be sure this is a real health issue not a hyped up one. I had tons of mercury amalgam replaced years ago and definitely noticed health improvements afterwards. It's really a choice of the lesser of evils.
I'll find out next week which brand I have. Can this be Geiger counter detectable? What about zirconium jewelry?
http://www.icnr.com/zo/biocompatiblematerials.htm Whle USA FDA approval may be meaningless, France approves it. Here a German mfr.
http://tuberose.com/Biocompatible_Dental_Materials.html Info on dental materials.
Mercola's website had a sensationalized story that granite kitchen counters are radioactive, same idea, but don't rip out the kit chen tops yet.
Thanks for raising an interesting issue.

Hi Tanya,
I'm in S. Florida now, but do the allopathic doctor/dentist/homeopath circuit up north revolving around Dr. Ramakrishnan's USA visits. The dentist I use was Hal Huggins trained, a pioneer in promoting mercury free dentistry and safe removal techniques including vitamin/herbal regimen. Unfortunately, New York State dental society persecuted if not prosecuted my dentist for daring to suggest mercury amalgams are problematic. He survived and flourished but stays low key on the issue. He keeps current, recently changed over to minimal exposure x-ray equipment, supposedly less radiation than sunlight and offers new services on visits like an oral rinse with a light probe that detects oral cancer. He had 2 patients this year, one a smoker, one not, that showed abnormal cells in mouth. These patients then go for further testing or biopsies for confirmation of malignancy. First I thought, another way to make $, but seems worth $40 for early detecttion.
There's a "rumor" that Listerine causes oral cancer. I've been using the less intense orange one. Plaque is problematic, especially in diabetics, and worsens gingivitis, receding gums and periodontal disease. I've added Plax pre-rinse to lessen use of Listerine and Crest after-rinse to brushing/flossing to help deal with this issue though who knows about the chemicals in those.
I only have crowns, no posts, lucky so far. Sorry you had a bad dental experience. Doubtful filing complaints with NYS would do much unless you were severely disfigured.

I tried it for the first time recently, and YUK--like holding a
mouthful of gasoline!!! Wouldn't be hard to convince *me* it could
cause oral cancer.

Have you tried brushing with baking soda and salt combo? It doesn't
taste great, but it's not too bad, and I'm told that helps to keep
plaque at bay. I've just started, so can't give testimonial yet.
Also something called Ioxan, which I've yet to try, but thinking
about.

Yes, those dental posts were the issue in my cases. I'm wondering if I have any...never asked in certain crown/root canal/etc. work in the past :/ Since this is such an invasive, expensive, traumatic and often too delicate an area to mess with again in dental work, it makes changing it unlikely.
Because of this I've had to work with getting the titanium 'sealed in' by people who are able to affect the issue psychically.
Interesting that in Sholten it speaks a lot of 'futility, aimless, uncertainty, failure (and fear of)...'even at the start they are convinced they will make a mess of it'. This seems to translate in material form when in the body to permeate and override things trying to help that individual. Also mentioned 'In Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, Queen Titania wanders around lost in the woods and in her dreams' He never wasted words and meaning.
I agree someone said, of course some are going to be more sensitive than others.

Yes it does indicate to me it commonly interferes, somehow...not always obvious at first. I have not checked back with successful patients on having implants...would be a good 'study'. But even with those who knows, they might have done even better if not for that

I'll be asking that questions from now on!
Thanks,
Liz

Hi Shannon,
This pattern sounds a bit like what happens when people have all their
mercury fillings removed. Often initially the person feels much better,
but it's a bit like once the body has readjusted from managing a
situation of constant exposure to the metals, back to 'life as normal',
it can begin cleaning up the toxins which have been placed in storage,
and starts releasing the stored metals for removal from the body. On
the Mercury chelation lists around 4-6months post removal is recognised
to be a particularly vulnerable time where the person is more likely to
be depressed and finding life too hard.
I think this is a time when organ and drainage remedies can be
invaluable. I hadn't put this together before but Burnett of 'Organ
Remedy' fame talks about that sometimes you need to treat the whole body
disease and sometimes you need to treat the diseased organ - if the body
is sick because one organ is overwhelmed, that's where you focus rather
than looking at the whole body. So what I'm wondering is whether a
toxin like mercury is more likely to cause organ damage than a disease
which will cause miasmatic damage. One step further - we know mercury
toxicity is similar to Syphilis - so the symptom picture in both
situations is similar - but in treatment I wonder whether the situation
of toxicity is more likely to call for the organ and drainage remedies
compared to the infection which may be better handled by a
constitutional/miasmatic approach.
Gail.
A year and a half later I *finally* realized I was having systemic
reaction to the titanium and steel implants, and had them out. The thing
that was especially curious to me: I felt MUCH better
starting almost immediately after the removal; energy began picking up,
certain symptoms became less, then stopped. But some weeks
after--maybe a month or so?--I had a very sudden shift which
basically felt as though several decades worth of healing
work--remedies, meditation, bodywork, and various etc.--had been wiped
completely away, landing me very suddenly back in a type and degree of
deep imbalance that I hadn't had to deal struggle with since high school
days.

Do you know what the relevant organs might be, either for titanium or
for mercury? (I suppose liver would be key for most any toxic
exposure?) I need to spend more time with Dr. Roz's book.
I hadn't thought of my titanium removal issue experience as a detox
issue, but maybe so...
Mercury--a separate issue that I also need to look into (thanks to a
string of broken compact fluorescent bults, argh... My son cleaned
them up himself, without bothering to mention 'em!). Do you have any
particular one(s) to recommend?

For Titanium = from the MM - standing midway between Sil and Stannum - so expect the lungs to be involved - other prominent sx include visual disturbances (hemiopia), sexual weakness, specifically so called Bright's disease, allergies, Lupus.
Mercury goes everywhere but mainly destroying gums, teeth, bones.
Outside of that there are studies to suggest the thyroid is targeted.

Yuk, nice...
Guess it's time to get some heavy metal testing done--which I'd been
thinking before anyway, just because life is as it's is. (Plus broken
bulbs, argh.)
Thanks Joy,
