Dear Dale,
Thank-you for the reminder. I have a system that I have to some extent thought out. It just is not simple enough and logical enough. So this is a time to re-think and simplify.
Knowing where things are is one plus, but probably more important to me as a student/practitioner is feeling organized. Being organized to me is relaxing. Getting organized is challenging, but the after effect is relaxing.
Thanks,
Ellen

That's pretty much how I keep my files in Word

When I want to find something:
I go Windows Explorer
go to my Homeopathy (or whichever folder I want to search)
go to the tool bar and select Search
the search companion box opens up
choose documents
select advanced search options
make sure the look in box indicates where you want to search
type in the word or phrase in the document you are looking for
the computer will perform the search
and every document that contains the thing you wish to find will appear

Lynn,
The method I use for storing is:
highlight the message by rt clicking. In the window that drops down, go to
'move to folder'. In the nxt window that drops down click new folder - name the
folder (say homeopathy) click OK. and the message will go to that folder.
To find a particular msg. rt click on the folder, click find and in the find window
put the name or part of the msg. etc, and press search.
