i agree that the homeopharmacies need to be
actively involved but do not agree that the
burden is primarily theirs.
every movement is always fought on many levels.
the grassroots has always been prominent in
raising the cry and getting the public to become
more informed. many different tactics are
employed in a struggle. it is counterproductive
to attack particular tactics; it only results in
negative infighting which can only weaken a movement.
and let it be clear that we do have a holistic health
care movement afoot today. unfortunately it lacks a
center. different modalities see their interests with
individualistic blinders on. however, that doesn't
necessitate everyone jumping on the divisive bandwagon.
it is encumbant upon everyone of us to jump in where
we can and add our voice and energy to the efforts.
the bigger the base the louder the voice.
i think your concern about the pharmacies is valid.
but they are only one piece of the pie. have you
contacted any of the pharamacies to ascertain their
level of involvement?
during the struggle with fda anti-vitamin/supplement
guidlines last year i approached a few of the health
food stores in my area. i was concerned that they
had no flyers, petitions or any other information for
the public. one owner said that he relied on the
professional organization of health food store owners
to carry the banner. i thought that was interesting.
he had no connection to the public that enabled him to
make his living and only saw things from the point of
view of his business surviving. it could have been a
jewelry store for all effective purposes! i wonder if
the homeopharmacies suffer from the same malady of
disconnect?
