Hi Dr. Roz and Shannon,

Solanin is from green potato skins and the sprouts. You know those potato that get old and green. I bought organic potatoes that are not old and boiled the skins. So far, the soup just is giving me a headache. The family is sometimes responsible for arthritic responses but it takes a while for that to develop. (days).

Dr. Roz, Solanin is a remedy with a few proving symptoms. Kidney symptoms are not among them, but then how many provers have kidney stones during the proving?

Boericke:
Solaninum aceticum (threatening paralysis of the lungs in the course of bronchitis in the aged and children must cough a long time before able to raise expectoration); Solan. pseudocaps. (acute pains, in lower abdomen)

Varma:
Solaninum was proved by Clarus and Schroff and others. Slowed and oppressed respiration was a marked feature. Respiration was slowed in inverse proportion to the increase in the pulse rate. There was cerebrospinal irritation, hyperesthesia and convulsions worse by touch.

Interesting that Sankaran cites Berberis-vulagris as feeling intermittently stuck and harrassed (sycotic all remedies- Sankaran's malaria miasm) but in a postion to rapildy change her position or character. That's me. So I am thinking of taking a higher potency than what is used in the past for kidney stones. Maybe 200c or 1 M

Would Calcul Renalis be useful I wonder although Berberis higher sounds good.

For me repping it Benz-ac comes out higher and Berberis does not come out at all. But reading about Berberis, there is much greater affinity.

Calcul Renalis is the product of the kidney problem. Murphy gives it for kidney stones, but I see no provings. It is not even in Radar. Since the stone are made of a variety of waste minerals, I suppose your own stones or sediment would be more appropriate. But the problem is really with the kidney, not the product.

I have read that they go green because they are exposed to light at the wrong moment. Nothing to do with being old. Unfortunately, organic potatoes often tend to have green on them, in my experience, and I think it is because the organic growers are not yet quite on target with their potato raising. I believe cooking removes the poison even when they are not peeled and the green cut off, if you carefully remove the sprouts, but I remember back in the 60s when folks wanted to eat everything raw hearing that some were poisoned by eating green potatoes raw.
