Re: Obsessed about disease
Hi Emily,
What potency of ignatia or nat-m did you give him, and how long did you
wait before moving on (just in case there was more to happen?)

Re: Obsessed about disease
It all started with the death of their Nephew 2 yrs ago. He took
care of him.
He died of Cancer at the age of 24 and it was a gruling death.
He started drinking too much and here he is with his state of health
in chronic attention. He's 32 yrs old.
I got a ton of info and food for thought from AH which was so
appreciated - so I'm using that to the full. I thought and read on
several things so I have to go with my gut feeling and first try Arg-
N.
That suits him well.
After a good amount of time, I'll go for the Ignatia again due to
the Nervousness of his state also there's Med to think on.
Seeing where he is in the stream of time and interlocking Phos if
needed.
So we'll see how he does. Nat Mur and Ars did nothing for him.
Ignatia did in the beginning with the grief he was bearing due to
the death of his family member.
Everyone has been so great in helping me with this. Many Thanks

Re: Obsessed about disease
Yes this is what I'm doing.
I've just got to get him out of this state of mind and then we'll go
from there. AFTER the death. Arg-N looks good right now but that
remains to be seen. He's picking it up today. fingers crossed

Re: Obsessed about disease
All of this is in a time frame of about 2 yrs.
He was on Ignatia after the death for about a couple of months.
He seemed to be getting worse so I put him on Nat Mur. He needs a
ton of consoluation tho so the Nat Mur really didn't work for him.
Then he developed severe Heartburn and other symptoms of bloat etc
(I believe from all the alcohol) Not being an angry person I used
Lyc for a while using LM's and that worked.
Then came along Heart Palpitation and other symptoms common in Phos
I chose Phos for him due to totality of symptoms and it helped some
but didn't get it all out as AH brought out in his notes.
It's hard to listen to someone on the phone begging me for help with
his mental state. That's why I might have hurried thru remedies.
He knowssssss he's like this which is good because he can make a
fool out of himself asking everyone he comes in contact with if they
have this or that as symptoms of disease.
As he puts it, he's crazy in the head.
Poor thing.
So I'm working hard on this and appreciate everyones help

Re: Obsessed about disease
Thanks Emily--
But I am curious what potency(s) you have used with him?
A state as intense as his should respond quickly, I would think, and
might be a good candidate for a high potency single dose. Maybe test
with low potency, and if you get any encouraging response with
that--even if it lasts only a day or so--then try a single dose of a
higher potency?
"Begging ... for help with his mental state"...
Mind, Begging, entreating: achy, ars, aur, bell, kali-c, lyss, plat,
plb, puls, stann, stram.
You said you've already tried ars (too bad; thought maybe phos sent
into ars by the death...), how about stram? I have only slight
familiarity with the chronic, more "subtle" picture of stram, but I
know they can be very intense, and the "violent" aspect may show
entirely thru violence of the fears, or illnesses, or other. Stram
definitely has the "sparkly" eyes, need for company and reassurance...

Re: Obsessed about disease
Nervous twitches, spasms, etc... starting upon the death of someone close would
make me want to examine Ign as a possible remedy.

Re: Obsessed about disease
This increased obsessiveness does not sound like a ROS. Nor is Phos. necessarily the most hypochondriac of remedies. He reminds me of a Nux-v. patient of mine who went to the ER concerned about possible prostate cancer. When the doc picked himself up from rolling on the floor with laughter, he reassured her that this was impossible.

Re: Obsessed about disease
I guess we'll go round and round with this as we don't have the full
case but Cocculus is in a stupor not the active nervous state that has
been described - his need for consolation is so extreme that you would
be tempted to use the 'inconsolable' rubric (maybe Vaeratrum that
desires ice and the nervous state gets << evening?), maybe Borax so
nervous from shock and fearful of being contaminated with disease and
has constant vertigo.
It seems to me that 'shock' and ailments from could be more relevant
than grief, especially with the active nervous state that has evolved.
Agaricus even with the causation, fear for their health, need for icy
cool. Spiders - causation from shock, nervous, twitchy, spasms.
Maybe ambra grisea - he was hyper as a child and has never left that
stage, still so fearful of dying (being eaten alive, DG), has had a
terrible shock that leaves them in a state of dread that is dependent
on dwelling on such unpleasant things, lots of vertigo, see faces (at
night). Ambra sounds good but on it goes. Joy
