Dear Collagues,
There is not doubt that nosodes are unusual remedies that have some
particular indications. Nevertheless, the ideas presented about acute
diseases and psorinum seems to be trivialization of data that was stated by
Boenninghausen many years ago. The Baron was quoted as saying:
2. In those subjects in whom the remedies do not seen to act promptly, we
must ascertain the cause that prevents their action.
(a). Psora. Administer a dose of Psorinum before giving the remedy
corresponding to the totality.
Lesser Writings, pager 182
Psorinum also has the related rubrics:
1. In chronic cases *when well selected remedies fail to relieve or
permanently improve (in acute diseases, Sulph); when Sulphur seems
indicated but fails to act.
2. Lack of reaction after severe acute diseases.
Although some might try to equate the use of psorinum first in acute
diseases, evem all cases to Hahnemann used of Sulphur first in chronic
states based on psora, suppression and drugging but there is little
similarity. In acute diseases Hahnemann usually began the case with a
remedy chosen for the acute symptoms. In a few instances, however, he would
alternate an acute remedy with Sulphur when he thought psora was an
obstacle to the cure. A common example, was Aconite with Sulphur in an
acute aconite-like fever.
As to giving everyone Psorinum and in so many high to low potencies so
quickly???? Well.....I find it quite unnecessary in my cases!!! What is the
long term effects of such standardized medication??? This methods seems to
be leaving many of the cardinal checks and balances integrated in the
system far behind. At least we *know* that the traditional methods are safe
and effective as we have a large pool of clinical information spanning 196
years.
