One more minor point to add to Chris' excellent discussion of the different liquid potencies and how she uses them: Understandably, people with an addiction to alcohol do not want remedies with alcohol mixed in, even a little. I comply, of course, making up their remedies with only water. I tell these people to store their remedies in the fridge, which seems to work fine to preserve them.
