Enlightenment Vs Classical Homosexuality
Re: Enlightenment Vs Classical Homosexuality
PPS: Many people who it is believed achieved enlightenment had quite
bad physical health. Something to ponder if you havent already done so.

Re: Enlightenment Vs Classical Homosexuality
I was thinking about the same...
Surely good health *supports* a person in *any* quest, and since the
body is the means thru which the soul is learning and experiencing, I
couldn't think it's irrelevant -- but "enlightenment" is about
something qualitatively different from physical health...
Tho on what basis *would* we call someone enlightened--surely not just
because they and their followers say so?

I have no problem regarding discussion on sexuality - what I objected to was
the meaningless banter between you two!

I may be having one of my autistic days - I fail to see the relevance!

Re: Enlightenment Vs Classical Homosexuality
Thanks for all the responses on this. I did not have any intention to express criticism or judgment in my question, so I'm sorry that some took it that way. A lot of the response was very helpful though, especially Simon's response to the antidote for tub bov (Take the symptoms, retake the case,That will provide your solution) which sounds like as good a mantra as any for any homeopath!
I feel though that part of the discussion though didn't move far from those I experienced when studying. In one case where a child who had been constantly masturbating stopped doing so after taking a remedy, one enraged student accused the homeopath of harming the child's sexuality long term.
I don't feel that within a homeopathic context the issue of sexuality is one of right or wrong, or even religious or not religious, and I feel that judgments distort the purpose of treatment. Liz's post was very helpful to me, pointing out the centrality of "dissatisfaction with self" in the case of a gay person wanting to be straight.
So I suppose I'll just take the symptoms, take the case, find the solution, and give the unhappy gay patient an antidote to tub bov...

Re: Enlightenment Vs Classical Homosexuality
Hi Vera
I would regard it as highly significant if a child masturbates. It is
therefore worthy of consideration in repertorisation.
Ditto if an adult masturbates in public (Those of you watch Big Brother in
UK, watch Craig!).
IMO your fellow student was not experienced enough. When you give the
'correct' remedy you are not suppressing - you are allowing the VF to
function as it should.
------
Just to take this discussion further, in terms of homoeopathic
considerations of sexuality we have two rubrics:
MIND - HOMOSEXUALITY (Includes Lesbianism)
MIND - AVERSION - women; to - men; in - homosexuality; with
Under what circumstances would colleague feel it would be appropriate to use
such rubrics.
When do they become part of 'what needs to be cured'?

Hi Vera,
without knowing the whole case it's difficult to comment further.
People do have strong opinions when it comes to sexuality though, bit
of a minefield:-)
Which is one reason why as far as I'm concerned it is the patients
reality that matters and that I work with, not mine. that way there is
never any conflict
