What sort of success have you had with a long-time chain smoker?
Especially by homeopathy, but other means as well?

I have never actually had one come to me who was seriously committed
to giving up and I wouldn't even attempt to help unless totally
committed!!!!

Because they'd need plenty of effort and willpower along with the
remedy, or ??

Nigel Hargreaves has written a book recently on the subject, available
at www.a-r-h.org I think

I have not read it so can't say whether it's any good or not.

My approach to the problem is to try to treat as soon as is practicable
the underlying reasons for the addiction.

Some can go there immediately, some only after awhile & depends of
course how well the body is holding up.
I often do this this before trying to get them off the juice, they find
it much easier to relinquish that way.
Once the psychological addiction is gone the physical is easy.

It goes without saying that the nutritional side must of course be
looked at.
try to get the body stronger before giving up if possible (isn't always)
Two indispensible herbs are Slippery Elm and Avena sativa Tincture

Hi Simon,

When you've used Avena Sativa tincture in this way, how much do you
have them take, and how often, and is this something where a distinct,
specific result will be felt during the short-run, or does it need to
be continued long-term before the benefit becomes clear? (Also, isn't
this the one that can increase the appetite of a picky eater?)
Thanks!
Shannon

Thank you Simon.
This fella has decided to stop drinking and insists he can do it on his
own.
This in itself must indicate something. I still think of Thuja as he
has cysts and warts but family history could indicate Carcinosin.
The nutritional advice sensible. Thanks again, Jean

Hi Jean,
not sure why that post turned up so late - I thought I had posted it
ages ago!
