Dear Nader,
Yes, it is possible that a non-infectious agent induce
such confusion in VF. It all depends on the nature of
the stimulus and its amplitude. For example, the grief
following death of a loved one does not necessarily
need an underlying chronic miasm to become chronic
itself.
