Dear Nader,

Yes, it is possible that a non-infectious agent induce
such confusion in VF. It all depends on the nature of
the stimulus and its amplitude. For example, the grief
following death of a loved one does not necessarily
need an underlying chronic miasm to become chronic
itself.

In aphorism 31 of Organon Hahnemann says:" 2. The-partly psychical and
partly physical-inimical potences in life on earth (which we call disease
malignities) do not possess an absolute power to morbidly mistune the human
condition. 73 We become diseased by them only when our organism is just
exactly and sufficiently disposed and laid open to be assailed by the cause
of disease that is present, and to be altered in its condition, mistuned and
displaced into abnormal feelings and functions. Hence these inimical
potences do not make everyone sick every time. "

What is you idea? Have you had any chronic case without any underlying
chronic miasm who has become sick after stressed by "non-infectious agents"?

Hi Nader,

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but maybe an example
would be someone who is healthy until a severe accident causes internal
injuries that they are not able to completely recover from? They might
remain healthy at the emotional level, but thereafter need special care
for the physical debility--would that be an example?

Or similarly damaged by a toxic substance?

Dear Nader,

Hahnemann here says that these forces do not possess
an 'absolute' power to morbidly mistune the human
condition. He is comparing these forces to 'some
types' of infections which he believed can affect the
organism unconditionally irrespective of the strength
of the organism to adapt. He has repeatedly mentioned
his idea that 'Psora' his proposed old infectious
disease can affect even the most robust constitutions
(in introduction to his 'Chronic Diseases....'.

These 'partly psychical and partly physical-inimical
potences' can induce confusions in VF leading to
chronic manifestations when the adaptition of the
organism is either decreased because of the underlying
chronic manifestations or when they are beyond the
range of adaptibility of human being. But as Hahnemann
believed that here the effect is conditional, he is
saying that they do not possess 'absolute' power to
morbidly mistune the organism.

I have repeatedly observed chronic mental
manifestaions that are not a part of the flare-ups of
underlying chronic condition and even independant of
what is called 'chronic miasms'.

We are talking about "imperfect persistent reaction of VF", what you are
saying is not persistent reaction of VF, in fact in your example the outcome
is a sequels which do not progress.
Have you ever seen that side effects of Drugs, for example, hearing
impairment of Gentamicine continues its progression?

Let me explain. After the organism is affected by an
stimulus,

1. If the quality and amplitude of the disturbance is
within the range of adaptibility of the organism, VF
restores the normal equillibrium.

2. If the quality and amplitude of the disturbance is
beyond the range of adaptibility, the organism tries
to adapt but is not successful to accomplish this task
perfectly. So organism uses compensatory reactions and
defence mechanisms to minimize the injury to the
system. These 'compensatory reactions' usually do not
(without treatment) change to 'normal reactions' to
overcome the unresolved image of the original acute
unresolved condition leading to chronic states. This
chronic state results in decreased adaptability of the
organism, so a 'positive feedback' or vicious circle
develops.

3. If the stimulus is even higher in amplitude or
unknown to the organism, death happens.

Now, this first stimulus can be an infectious agent
(which may lead to chronic miasms) or a psychological
or neurological stimulus, or,..

After exluding chronic reactions to errors in diet and
lifestyle, still we 'can' have chronic conditions
without needing an underlying chronic miasm.

Thanx a lot for answer but it reminded me of aphorism 32 and 33:
Hahnemann in these aphorisms says that "Natural diseases affect human being
(Conditionally)".
Therefore if both Natural diseases and "non infectious agents" affect
"conditionally, why Hahenmann separates them?

Aphorism 32:
3. It is entirely different with the artificial disease potences which we
call medicines. Every true medicine works at all times, under all
circumstances, on every living human being, and arouses in him its peculiar
symptoms. These symptoms will be distinctly conspicuous if the dose is large
enough. It is evident, therefore, that every living human organism must be
affected throughout and, as it were, infected by the medicinal disease at
all times and absolutely (unconditionally) which is, as said before, not at
all the case with natural diseases.

Aphorism 33:

It proceeds undeniably from all experience 74 that the living human
organism is far more disposed and inclined to allow itself to be aroused and
have its condition differently tuned by medicinal powers than by ordinary
disease malignities and infectious miasms. In other words, disease
malignities possess a power to differently tune the human condition which is
subordinate and conditional, often very conditional, while medicinal
energies possess an absolute unconditional power far outweighing the power
possessed by disease malignities.

Let me clarify this.

What I call 'non-infectious agents' is NOT synonymous
to what Hahnemann calls 'artificial diseases'.
Artificial disease or medicinal disease is a state
induced by a medicinal agent with a clear, fixed
picture. The picture induced is always the same and
has a substantial link with the agent.

What I was talking about was the disturbance caused by
a non-infectious agent which may not be the same in
different individuals with the same stimulus; like the
trauma caused by a strong physical, psychological,...
stimulus. That's why you can not have the proving of
grief, sudden fear, physical trauma,...

Toxicities (chemical traumas) can also act like this
when they are severe and high in amplitude; the reason
why a patient suffering from a toxicity needs a remedy
different than the dynamized toxic agent to get rid of
his 'dynamic derangement of VF'.

Even provings with very strong doses, may act as a
shock to the organism and this will distort the clear
picture which we expect from an induced artificial
disease with substantial qualitative link to the agent
used in the proving!

I do not compare "medicinal Diseases" with natural diseases.

In aphorism 32 and 33 Hahnemann says that medicines can affect human being
"UNCONDITIONALLY" but "Natural diseases" affect " CONDITIONALLY", therefore
Psora which is a natural disease too, can not affect every person
"UNCONDITIONALLY"
On the other hand in aphorism 31 Hahnemann talk about "partly psychical and
partly physical-inimical potences" which affect organism "CONDITIONALLY"
too.
In summary, both "natural diseases" and " non-infectious agents" affect
"CONDITIONALLY", the question is this: if they act in the same way why
Hahnemann separate them and on the other hand Hahnemann in aphorism 78 says
that the true, natural, chronic diseases are those that arise from a chronic
miasm. When left to themselves (without the use of remedies that are
specific against them) these diseases go on increasing.
