Post-stroke patient question

Ann,

With any head injury case, including stroke, you have to be extremely
cautious. I've only treated one post-stroke Px, and she was in pretty good
shape (though impatient to have her motor skills back). The point is that
she was conscious, cognizant, and eager for treatment; she could also take
her own remedies.

With someone who's unconscious and incapable of giving permission for
treatment, you have to be absolutely certain the family is on board. Even
if they are, you still may have to be very "discreet" in administering
remedies. I've found putting the remedy in a spring water bottle and using
it to moisten the Px's lips (with a Q-tip) or wipe her forehead (with a
moistened handkerchief). You could even give a quickie sponge bath using
the remedy (just remember to wear impermeable gloves!).

P.S. I just saw your posting about your mother being the patient. I'm so
sorry. By all means in that case try, or find a good homeopath to help
you -- it can't hurt and can only help her! (My post-stroke Px made a
complete recovery.)

Is there a homeopath in your area who you might work with, or would you like
help trying to locate one? This really doesn't sound to me like a
"do-it-yourself" situation, for a lot of reasons.

Thank you all for your replies and your support. I know this isn't a
self-help problem and I would never attempt it as I am not
experienced nor even a 3rd-4th year student w/ supervision. Many
people in my family are anti-homeopathy, so either way it would have
to be discreet. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to take pictures of
my mother, let alone a video of her. The system really stinks and I
can't blame any homeopath for turning away from a case, but I had to
ask.
