I would have to agree with Piet on this.
I still don¹t really appreciate what a layered case is although I have had
cases in my practice that I thought might fall into this category.
I can remember a terrible case of Arthritis. There was so little that struck
a chord with any remedy because the case was so severely suppressed by
allopathic drugs for many years, and yet in another way there were so many
varied sx all suggesting hundreds of remedies. The lady asked for a hard
seat to sit on when she first came to see me, as she found it difficult
rising from a soft seat and the only other really useful sx I could use was
the modality > movement. I thought the case
was going to be impossible but I prescribed Rhus tox and this was the only
rx she ever needed and she was completely cured with this.
Another case, a lady who had previously had Hay Fever suppressed, years
later she developed asthma that was also nearly successfully suppressed and
she came to see me because of polyps on her vocal chords (from the
allopathic drugs) and really bad rheumatics that she spent many an hour in a
wheelchair. I nearly didn¹t take this case either because I thought it would
be incurable but her rx was crystal clear and she fully recovered also and
even got her hay fever back (much to her disgust) but this was cured also
after a couple of years.
So these were never layered cases, even though I thought they might be.
Other cases I have had that have turned out to be difficult, i.e. not cured
with one rx (and I am not including cases where I have failed by not giving
the simillimum), have always had some kind of block to them and have
required a nosode of some kind to clear (this is the best use of nosodes in
my opinion and has always been so in my practice), and I suppose these cases
could come under the banner of being layered.
Other than that I am very wary of describing a case as being layered.
Best wishes, Joy
