Generally, I find TPB extremely useful when the essence of a case is a bit confusing, as I've managed to get it from the client, but there are one or two clear somewhat SRP symptoms. That helps to narrow down the remedy choices when I'm lucky. So I often use it in cases that appear to me confusing or complex, not in "simple" ones, which I define as ones where the essence of the case as the client and I shared it corresponds clearly to a specific remedy picture.

Well those things might be dear to *some* homeopaths, but they are
all artificial constructs developed to make things easier-- a concept
I do NOT agree with.
Boenninghausen remains as the basic level-- find the symptoms, give
the remedy. THAT is what homeopathy is about.
By the way of all the constructs you describe, the one which is
closest to what Boenninghausen was attempting is Herscu's "cycles and
segments" which takes what we know about the totality of a remedy's
effects, and puts it into perspective that can explain the different
presentations we can see of it in our practices.

The next in line would probably be "families" in which plants of the
same botanic family are looked at for similarities-- something
Hahnemann was already starting in his work.

Also that it is the result of very very clear
thinking.

The reason Boger's is scoffed at is that it was not
used as extensively as TPB. The fact that the usable
Boger's rep was printed in India after his death and
the obsession with Kent's rep prevented it from
actively used. But ask Bhanu desai, he answers
everything abour Boger's in his book. The greatest
criticism has been the local modality and sensation
which he introduced into his rep. I find that as an
added weapon. In essence Boger's is TPB method only.
Since Boenninghaussen, no one has matched him in
coining general rubrics, ( for example, as Phatak
says, the curious rubric of- through metallic tube, as
if,in his sensations which was verified by Phatak
himsef).

I have yet to find one repertory which is so useful in
fevers and acute exacerbations as Boger's. The fever
repertory especially is incomparable and unique. Once
used, and if, it can be got by heart in about a week ,
there is nothing like it. These I learnt from hard
knockings amid frustration in dealing acutes and
emergencies. Try kent's in a fever and use Boger in
the next and see the difference.

These are the rants of a layman who has cases as
frequently as his family/friends/employees fall sick.
Some may find worth in it still.
