*** It appears that Par=paris should have been pareira brava in the rubric in Synthesis and Paris given instead of pareira because of that. Pareira has perspiration before urination (Knerr) plus the main peculiar which you chose which was BLADDER; URINATION; involuntary; vomiting, while (6) (from Knerr: URINATION: DROPS, IN: TENESMUS, WITH, NAUSEA AND VOMITING OF BILIOUS FLUIDS. 0>1>0. So, you must have prescribed "par", but given paris instead of pareira because of the mistake in synthesis. (?)

Paris quad in case:
Below at end of post are Paris quad female, bladder, urethra, stomach, perspiration, and generalities sections from Complete 2000. The possible resonance with the case as given is noted. ADHESION, internal, is present--- interestingly complaints came on after tube-tie. I recall that VT suggested Thios with that in mind. There are stomach sx and vomiting (watery).

Looking in Sankaran: From computer analysis of peculiar rubrics Sankaran worked out that Paris and the lily group has in common a "forced out" "sensation". "Forcing out" is what is actually happening with her stomach contents and urine (peculiarly, as she does not appear to have a weak sphincter, as it does not occur with sneezing, etc).

Those are the only obvious correlations between Paris and the case as given that I can find real quick. Maybe someone else found some.

besides the dicussion about the right or wrong remedy (Pareir - or Par.) in
the repertories there is something interesting to share. It seems obvious
that Paris worked very good. So the question is why it worked - the same
question as Gaby Rottler asked. Her answer was giving some othere precise
symptoms of the remedy matching the case.

My approach now is coming from the new Sankaran-Methode of looking at the
kingdom and family. Sankaran has put Paris into the group of liliales - so
together with remedies as Verat., Lil-t., Sars., Croc., Colch. etc. Pareira
brava is of the family of Menispermaceae (together with Cocc.).
Wenn looking at the symptoms the similarity to Veratrum album ist striking:

Perspiration, explusion of bodyfluids from different outlets simultaneously.
From Vermeulen Synopt.:
EXCESSIVE evacuations; watery.
Attacks of pain, which produce delirium and mania for a short time.
Delirious from headache.
Vomiting and diarrhoea SIMULTANEOUSLY [Verat. and Ars. main remedies].
Vertigo and cold sweat on head, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Dysmenorrhoea and coldness, prostration, vomiting and diarrhoea.

In addtion we have anxiety and restlessness which fits to Veratrum as well.

This shows according to Sankarans finding the overall expression of this
family.
The vital sensation is "forced out feeling" in polarity to "held back" and
can be found in all the othere remedies of this family. It could have been
confirmed, if the patient would have been asked, how it felt to be in that
state - what was the deeper sensation during that attacks. To identify a
sensation which was expressed in the local oder main complaint as a "vital
sensation" which is like a very big general symptom covering all expressions
of the case, this sensation has to be confirmed on other levels - (the
emotional and the delusional level). She could have answered, that
everything was coming out with force and she cannot hold it back. If you
would insist asking her repeatedly about this sensation, she could have come
to an emotional expression of this - usually but not necesssary the feeling
of "beeing outside, not belonging" - in Paris we know about the continuous
loquacity - only talking about oneself - likes it to be in middle of
attetion. This seems to be the reaction to the feeling of being thrown
outside of a group/familiy - see symptom: " Delusion, at night on waking, of
finding themself in strange and solitary places " [Allen Handbook]
She could also have expressed in a delusional way: "Dream of beeing thrown
out of the family" - It would have been very shurely the "vital sensation"
if she had shown a gesture of "throwing out" or "held back" together with
the main complaint, with the emotional expression and the dream (difficult
to describe here - you have to see it - s.th. like an forced outward
movement of the arm). If the body language (gestures etc.) is allways the
same, you can be shure that is must be the central vital sensation. You then
can be shure, that it must be a remedy of the liliales. Then comes the
question of miasm, which differentiates the different Liliales.
There is a childish way of dealing with this situation - the situation is
"needing a lot", the situation is a kind of crisis, where every engagement
is done with high engery to get back, what was gone. The situation is
percieived as big crisis, where relief has to be get immediately. This
represents in the Sankaran system of maisms the typhoid miasm. (similar to
Hyos., Bry., Cham..)
Paris is in typhoid miasm, Veratrum is in acute miasm. There is only slight
difference. Acute miasm is more of the panic reaction type. There is only
instinctive response - no real possibility to have time and save the
situation - (like a bomb exploding somewhere - so only hide and run away) -
the typhoid situation is similar to the danger of a house burning - all
people have to be gathered - have to help immediately - so lot of attention
seeking behaviour - "demands immediate relief") - all this we cannot see up
to now in this case - it was only writen to explain something of Paris
quadrifolia.

If then there are some very specific symptoms or rubrics - this is a very
nice confirmation. So the new Sankaran method can help understand cases like
this one. These discoveries make to a lot of other remedies and cases sense.
It helped me so much in my clinic - it was a real break through for me.
Some collegues don´t accept this new approach and there is a big discussion
about it. I only want to stress, that those who have strong objections
should consider the whole case taking process - which is as revolutionary
and new as the findings about the kingdoms and families. It belongs together
- only when the case taking is made with that method you can use the
insights to the kingdoms etc.
Sankarans new books "An insight into plants" I and II can give some hints to
the new method. But the most important thing is to learn about the
case-taking process which enables to get all the characteristics of case
and reach at the core. I feel this is often forgotten during this
discussion.
