what you said is right.Essences ,Core delusions etc are good for to talk in
seminars workshops etc .Atleast I am not able to make much use of them.I am
the one who regularly prescribe on physical symptoms as it is very
difficult to get mental symptoms and time consuming.But it does not work
always.
Prescribing on individualising on disease helps palliatively but relapses
and does not respond to same method.It is my experience that one can also
prescribe to individual suffering from perticular disease insted of only
for disease.Herings method of prescribing on basis of three compleated
symptoms(three leged stool) even though all are physicals only is safe bet.
.Generally Concomitants like Thirst,stools ,Taste ,sleep Modalities of time
,season ,sides of body are more of individual persons rather than
disease.Even in your Chamomilla case it is SRP symptom of coldness in
kidney area individualised the person rather than kidney disease.
Prescribing to person with disease ie on basis of totality-Disease symptoms
+ Individuals modality +concomittants ,if avalable mental symptoms and
SRPs, is effective than prescribing only on disease individualisation.

I am bringing here another almost forgotten method-
that of Boenninghausen, in which a single completed
sx is enough to prescribe. In recent months, I have
used Boger's rep exclusively in most cases reported
in minutus and personally.

I would like to replace the words physical symptoms
by characteristic symptoms. Sensation +modalities+
time+ concommittants make one complete symptom. When
you have even a single reliable characteristic one you
can use that with certainty rather than three. Here
the concommittant can be either physical or mental.

My patients and myself are safe and without much
repetitions, case gets resolved and the background of
the case is further revealed.

For such use, the boger's rep is an invaluable tool,
though its needs reorganisation, new remedies have to
be added, but these are all superficial and the core
stuff is reliable and sure. It all depends on one's
use.

For example,it has a repertory on fever which is a
self contained one. In acutes,where sx stand
prominently, the main sensations and concommittants(a
big section) are easy to find here. Only for the sub
modality of a concommittant, you need to go for the
individual chapter.

I once decided on puls instead of nux on the single
concommittant fluent coryza whereas nux was for
stuffed when these were neck to neck is a fever case.
