So, you are saying that this single expression would have to be "diagnosed"
treated in its whole context, along with e.g. history, mentals and etc.?
Now *that* I could not argue with!

Re: peculiar symptom
Dear Ardavan,
Excellent!
To the dead symptoms first. Do you mean to say rubrics
denoting those innate traits are dead ? Can you expand
on it ?

Venkat

Re: peculiar symptom
Well, I meant: Are you saying that this "symptom" (the ingrowing hairs) is
not a symptom, since it does not contain any elaboration (modalities or
etc.), but is rather [a part of] "a state thath evolved over some time".
And that as such, the non-symptom (ingrowing hairs) would need to be treated
*by* treating the overall state? Which, if I've understood you right, would
simply mean that this isolated observation (the hairs) needs to be addressed
thru addressing the entire person, including their history, circumstance,
and etc.?
If not, could you please elaborate what you meant?
Thanks,
Shannon

Re: peculiar symptom
Dear Venkat,
Consider a case with severe stomach ulcer which has
resulted in perforation. Here the ulcer and the
perforation are results of the dynamic derangement on
physical body. Ulcer and perforation are not valuable
symptoms here (They can be observed in autopsy!) These
(esp perforation) are not 'Alive' symptoms. On the
other hand, the type of patients pain, its modalities,
concommitants, accompanying mental derangements,...
are all 'Alive' and valuable..
I always exclude or give very low rank to the signs
that CAN be observed in autopsy!

Ardavan Shahrdar

Re: peculiar symptom
We do not have mathematically precise quantification formulae for symptoms. Where something starts and ends is based on personal experience. When we have a state we need to see why it happened? Probably it was the weakest spot in the system that we saw these growths. If lungs were relatively weaker then we would have seen some sarcodisis or it would be weaker bladder we would have seen urinary problem. Think Wholistic act Holistic. You need to take not just history and constitutional but environmental and family relation and effects from solar sytem lunar system and more to resolve such problem. Mending a cut is different to treat cough and curing cough is entirely different from addressing miasma.

Re: peculiar symptom
Ah, I understand. (But how do we treat or diagnose "effects from solar
system, lunar system and more"???)
Thanks,
Shannon
