Hi Rochelle,

I find "Stomach, Thirstlessness, heat, during", and also "Stomach,
Thirstlessness, chill, during". I don't see a more general one, tho.
And also, which I've seen for the first time -- thanks to Joy! --

GENERALITIES; FOOD and drinks; drinks; aversion; chill, during: ars., caps.,
chin., cimx., eup-per.

Cimex, for exmaple, which is in this rubric has some very interesting fever
and thirst modalities.

Thanks Julian, Ventkat, Marie !!! It wasn't Bryonia as no way did Mum say
that the child was < movement only that she wanted to lie close to her but
was not clingy like Puls would be.

I took 4 rubrics,
Flatulence obstructed,
Thirstlessness during fever,
Constipation in children
Covers kicks off.

Only 1 remedy comes through all 4 rubrics and that is Chamomilla which cured
the case with 1 dose of 6x. This fit the case because the child didn't want
to be disturbed but wanted to lay near mum.

I learnt something here as I didn't know that Cham. was in the rubric
constipation as I always associate it with green diarrhoea during
teething!!!

Here is one I posted on another list last week!!

I had a phone call today , child age 2 with a fever, crying didn't want to
be disturbed but lying on a chair next to mother, hot but wanted to throw
the covers off, pain in stomach, flatulence, possibly constipated, draws
knees up, thirstless.
I prescribed a remedy and had an email later this evening:-

Dear Jean,
This case was purely an acute and in an acute situation you only concentrate on what is apparent at that time. The child is a patient of mine and I do have all these detail but as said they were not relevant here.
BTW I love Cranio Sacral work and have had a lot of success for myself personally. I have quite a few child patient who have had this therapy after birth and I have 2 people that I recommend for this, one an osteopath and the other one who has been on a course in USA specialising in children.

a look into Allen's Encyclopedia, Vol 3, reveals the following proving
information from Wahle for Cimex:
"Chilliness at times, soon followed by dry heat, then by some
perspiration, with anxiety, so that she could not rest long in any
place, with frequent yawning and a weak pulse, almost without thirst,
but with desire for drinking because the throat was dry, lasting nearly
all day (after four hours)".

The German original proving offers some additional info that I didn't
find in Allen:
"- Evening chill without thirst
- ...the heat is without thirst and when she drinks to flush down the
retching, the water doesn't go down all at once, but step by step....
-....during the time without fever much thirst, which is less present
during chill, even less present during dry heat and not at all present
during perspiration"

That's why the repertories can only be signposts to possible paths
guiding to the remedy....we need the original information, which can be
found in the provings, in reports about toxicity etc.

i am confused by the semi-colons. the semi-colon after FEVER, Heat; would tell
me that i am looking at another rubric. the semi-colon after ABSENT suggests an
error. so if that semi-colon were changed to a coma, you would have a rubric
ABSENT, thirst, with but that would lead to a question of what is absent?
It can get very confusing and lead to lots of creative congecture. I would suggest
checking the rubric again to see how it is really written.

But the last phrase is "thirst, with"...
Sigh, the punctuation isn't much help here, is it? Looks more like it's
saying the *patient* is absent, but thirsty! (Sounds like me, tee-hee!)
