I think most women might want a little more than this to throw away their
Pill, and I would need quite a lot more before I would want to recommend it!
Personally, I don't believe it

How often -- once, weekly, "morning after", or ???
I would also wonder what price would be extracted -- if it *did* have this
effect, surely, it would have other effects as well? But I too would be
interested in hearing more. (Tho not because I would ever use nor recommend
it!)

There has recently been medical research undertaken on the effects of lemon juice as an effective contraceptive. It was trialled on large apes with great success, but in the television interview they didn't go into the 'nitty gritty' of how it was used, but I gathered that it was put on a cotton ball and inserted - the extent of useful detail. The researcher related anecdotes of women approaching him and whispering admittingly that lemon juice was the only thing they had to use during the war. The 'older' women I have asked aren't familiar with this but I will endeavour to find out more. Does anyone out there know any more?? A cheap, effective method hopefully!!

Best wishes,
Elizabeth Wighton

Hi Patricia,

Does your student have any details - is it really effective and how do they use it. I found the transcript of the interview and they mention using a slice of lemon with some of the juice squeezed out. If it's too nitty gritty, you can email me privately at wighton@powerup.com.au

The research was actually to study the effect on AIDS and found that it killed the virus. Of course you don't hear much about things when they are privately funded and don't have pharmaceutical companies involved as is the case here.

Anyone interested can go to www.aids.net.au and hit the link at the bottom of the page.

Ain't nature wonderful.

Best wishes Elizabeth

Would you care to elaborate on how you use cotton seed for contraception?

Well, lemon juice is know already for ages as a good, local and immediately
working protector, due to its extreme acidity life being impossible, so
spermatozoids die instantly. Nothing knew. Kind regards Dr medic V.V.Bucur (

P.S.-What was actually the relation to homeopathy in this question ?
