Thanks Joie,
Someone else suggested that may be what it referred to.
Which is also puzzling -- how could the remedy help someone who was dying
due to removal of an essential organ????
Curious...
Thanks,
Shannon

Blech, I think that's what my mom is afraid of!!!
Joy, do you have any thoughts or info as to how Proteus (or any remedy)
could help someone in this situation????

I would be opting for an organ specific remedy - most of the calcs will come
into play, especially calc iod as I wrote before but you would have to be
guided by presenting sx as well, as in any case.

It is a fine line to tread though dealing with allopathic drugs with a view
to substituting them with homeopathic rx - it isn't always possible.

Get your mum tested and treated while she still has all her parathyroids and
this situation can be avoided completely.

You mean tested for tumor? The parathyroid trouble apparently is a fact (at
least that's what the drs seem to feel?), but the reason is more of an
assumption (tho they consider it an assumption that is nearly a fact).

Looking thru calc-i, I am not sure what to think. She is chilly, no flushes
of heat that I recall. The mentals fit in a general sort of way; it doesn't
cover a lot of things she's talking about (like all the sepia symptoms!) and
her issues don't relate much with those few rubrics where calc-i is 2 or 3,
and she is hypothyroid rather than hyper... I assume you would begin with
the overall indicated remedy (using sepia) rather than an organ-specific?

It makes sense that the calcs would relate to parathyroid function, but the
only one I've seen mentioned in that connection is calc-p (which did
nothing apparent for her) -- do you know of any besides the calcs that are
considered to be? (Calc-c helped greatly for a while, but stopped; haven't
tried any other calcs.)

Thanks,
Shannon

Organ specifics may but probably won't resonate with the totality of the
case, i.e. including mentals and emotionals and possibly other physical sx.

You may need to expand your research into all the 'glandular swellings,
atrophy, indurations etc' rx. Bromium, cistus, ferrum iod, fucus, kali iod,
thuja, thyroidinum and probably many others - might all be possibilities.

But don't prescribe on a dr's assumptions, you have all the sx in front of
you and I wouldn't prescribe an organ specific without a reliable dx of a
cyst or tumour, from scans etc.

Go with what you know.
