Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who has replied to my inquiry. I have some ideas now
of what to expect and which remedies might be the most useful.
He has no fear of the surgery. He is so tired of them giving him trouble
that he can't hardly wait to get them out!
The surgeon has said that he would like to put him on antibiotics for
five days afterwards to prevent any infections. I have never had any
luck prescribing for his tonsil infections so we may do this. He just
had ten days of an antibiotic for tonsillitis that did not respond to
remedies.
Otherwise, I would try the Hepar sulph.

As a side note: this boy has mixed hand dominance and has one eye that
is far sighted and one that is near sighted. Does this bring any rubrics
or remedies to mind? Thinking constitutionally. Neither bothers him.

Sometime ago there was some discussion on this and was it Hecla that
helped the situation. Just am not sure remember properly. Arnica
seems the best indicated remedy to me at moment but did not help.

What would you include in a pack for someone having impacted wisdom teeth removed under a general anaesthetic to cover all eventualities?
Can anyone expand on:-
Arnica 30 - before and Arnica 200 after op
Hypericum 200 - for pain after
Calendula 6 /Bellis P 6 for healing
Phos 30 - any problems from the anaesthesia
Bell 30 for throbbing in dry socket Hepar 6 to promote resolution, Silica 6 if infected to get stuff up and out although Murphy gives Ruta as the main Rx but am not sure the indications of this

Ruta also good for dry socket - relationship to periosteum of the bone.

Staphysagria for indignation / grief / anger (supressed) about either procedure or care following the procedure. Relationship to stretching of fibres, invasiveness and trauma (especially cutting) associated with the procedure.

Pain symptoms and modalities will correspond with what we expect from these remedies.

Maybe include something if there is excessive bleeding - 'passive haemorrhage after tooth extraction' - such as Hamamelis.

Thanks to Fran and Joy for their suggestions which also went in the kit with mine!! I ended up with 12 remedies and their indications.
