1. There is a woman I know who dyes her hair bright pink and I mean bright and pink - as in punk, not red!! I reckon, but maybe wrong, that she would do this to draw attention to herself- an exhibitionist. What rubric could be used? (This is not a patient but it is possible she may become one as she was talking to me today)
2. Seasonal Affective Disorder SAD - is there a rubric or specific Remedy for this? I thought of Sol . Has anyone cured this, I presume that really it is a constitutional job.

First I would think about eliminating the maintaining cause. If that's
not possible,
full spectrum lighting and Vit D are said to be helpful.

Rather than looking at a rubric that encompasses the choice of colour, maybe it would be more useful to find out why she does it -- how it makes her feel to do it/not do it-- I would work backwards and see if this act is part of a theme underlying things ---- otherwise, I don't think it is necessarily a symptom of pathology.
My take on what Hahnemann said about other things that can be used to help find the similimum -- and my personal casetaking and prescribing experience bears this out, is that he was not saying to 'rep' everything you can see about a person, however, I think he was suggesting that taking these things into consideration when choosing a remedy may help guide you - as I don't think Hahnemann sat down and made rubrics out of everything he saw in a client, only what he saw as pertaining to the disease state presenting -- then he probably didn't make rubrics either in the manner we do, just read Materia Medica looking for the key symptoms mentioned there.
I think many homoeopaths include non-symptoms in their repping, which to me defeats the purpose of finding the totality of the disease state that is presenting. If one can discover the underlying cause of the presenting symptoms, and it happens to be psychological eg., (which in most of my cases it seems to be), then it would be logical to use that information to choose a similimum and as mentioned by others, if the remdy chosen that way happens to also work in the sphere of the pysical symtoms presenting, then that is going to be more useful than if it does not. However, not all personality aspects are part of every group of symptoms that a client presents with or are things that have led to a presenting disease state.
I think Hahnemann was likely a logical, reasoning man -- and he was treating disease states, and wrote about treating disease states, not personality necessarily unless they were in some way seen as pathological. He did call it a 'Totality of symptoms' -- and symptoms are signs that indicate a state of pathology/disease/disorder. The symptoms may be physical predominantly, or they may be psychological predominantly or they may be a combination of both. This is our job, to discover what it is we are trying to treat.

Re SAD, I agree with what was mentioned by others, that if it is truly due to lack of sufficient 'light' then that would be the obvious thing to replace first.

I have to ask "why green"?I have dyed my hair varioius colours but never green, or blue or mauve as they are not extentions of natural colours like I think a bright red is. But they that is just me
