I'm wondering if this Vermiculite would be helpful with something like heel spurs...? Anyone know?

My geologist husband says that vermiculite is a mica, he thinks mostly iron
and magnesium.

Can anyone provide me with some insights on this? It was mentioned to
me as a remedy, it seems possibly for motor nerve disorders. It's not
in my MMs.

There has been discussion about this Rx before and here is what I saved from it.

-------------------------------------------
Extracted from HOMOEOPATHICA

the journal of the New Zealand Homoeopathic Society

Volume 19 No.3 June 1999
Vermiculite, the miracle mineral medicine.
In April 1982 Behzad Schroff and Gool Cama presented a paper at an

international homoeopathic congress in Brighton, printed in the British

Homoeopatbic Journal in July that year, in which experiences with the 6x

potency of a medicine made from Australian vermiculite (a mica-like mineral)

were related. The mineral had been sold in its pulverised crude form as a

naturopathic dietary supplement, but the proprietor of the business bought

there might be more money in it in potentised form. The authors were asked

to compare the properties of the crude form in capsules and the 6x version.

This is what they discovered:
The trial run was undertaken for comparative evaluation. 6x was dispensed to

subjects who had taken the crude doses earlier. Needless to say they found

the potentised form more efficacious than the previous capsules. To further

confirm its efficacy, the least hopeful cases were carefully chosen, and

with their full consent 6x was administered: 4 tablets four times a day.
The first dose was administered, on 9 July 1980, to an elderly lady who had

developed osteoarthritis since the death of her brother ten years ago. Her

knees had been first affected and then the other joints in the lower

extremities. In spite of extensive treatment and care, the disease was

progressive. The wrists became painful and the fingers gradually flexed.

Heavy doses of painkillers only gave momentary relief from the agony and

discomfort. Ten days later, on 19 July she came personally to report on the

action of 6x. All that she kept repeating was, "Look at my fingers!" There

was no pain nor discomfort and the fingers were straight. Since the action

of the drug had started, she was advised to discontinue medication, so as

not to interfere the drug's beneficial action. But in vain. Her knees were

still aching constantly, so she persisted with the medication. After a

month she was able to step into the bathtub on her own. This was first

noticed by her niece, as to her it had become an automatic movement. Nine

months later unfortunately, she had a fall, resulting in the impacted

fracture of the neck of femur. The part had to be replaced which meant a

month of immobilisation. When she was first made to walk, to everyone's

surprise she did so, and without pain or stiffness, which was firmly

attributed by her and her relations to the continuation of 6x. It is over a

year now since she has stopped taking painkillers. However, initial

movements are often painful-more so in the mornings-and an acute bout recurs

when she unduly exerts herself, such as walking for a long time or climbing

many steps.
The second recipient was a lady in her early thirties, who was greatly

deformed by osteoarthritis and who had undergone prolonged traction, even

surgery. She was on drugs not yet officially marketed by the pharmaceutical

concern. 6x was taken by her as and when she remembered or pleased(!) but

after ingesting 20 of 6x she reported feeling much lighter, less pain and

oedema, more free and easier movements. Relatives observed listlessness

being greatly reduced. Everyone who took 6x for osteoarthritis reported

feeling better, livelier and lighter. Everyone noticed a reduction in

swelling around the joints, and that movements were easier. Improvement was

more rapid in smaller joints than in larger joints. Some felt lameness or

looseness at joints. This was due to a reduction in abnormal fluid around

the joint.
This was explained by a lady who took 6x. She was on cortisones for the

past 18 months. To counter the side effects, she took antacids and

diuretics. On taking 10g of 6x she found her joint pains were the same.

However, she felt lighter and her "puffiness" was less. She discontinued

her diuretics of her own accord, as her urine output was also good. An

increased urine output had also been noticed by another recipient earlier,

but was not emphatically mentioned.
A lawyer walked in one day, asking for 6x. Incidentally he was the first

male recipient. He had a severe backache. He had taken all kinds of

medicines to rid himself of his backache. He had also resorted to

physiotherapy, naturopathy, massages and yoga. The most demoralising factor

was having stopped his jogging, for fear of deterioration. 80 to 90% of

improvement was brought on by ingestion of 6x for three months. In another

three months, he was quite well. However, the X-ray appearance was as

before. Since February 1981 he has not taken any medicine, yet he is very

well and does all his routine work which involves climbing stairs. He jogs

daily for an hour.
As word got around of a new drug being used for arthritis, a very regular

patient rang up to inquire why she had been excluded. She was told

politely, patiently and clearly that her backache was due to osteoporosis

and not osteoarthritis and that they were opposite conditions. Despite this

she took 6x, at her own risk. Two months passed without comment. When her

daughter came for treatment she was casually asked about her mother's

backache. "Mummy took the medicine (6x) for a few days only and stopped.

But I have noticed", the daughter added, "that although mummy went out

shopping, and was out for six hours at a stretch, she has not complained of

any aches and pains".
To confirm this finding, 6x was given in cases of osteoporosis, and either

disappearance or great reduction of pain was seen. One of the cases of

osteoporosis was the outcome of treatment with cortisone. Her chronic

bronchitis m-as precipitating into bronchiectasis. In acute bouts she had to

take heavy doses of cortisone to prevent herself drowning in her own

secretions. After taking 6x she came earlier than expected to report.

"Listen", she said with glee. "Forget my backache, but my cough is very

much better, and expectorations easy, also decreased in quantity. I am

positive it is due to this 6x I am taking. I have never felt so much better

before". Her blood picture has changed-from too many red letters and

underlined to all within normal limits. Her chest X-ray also shows

improvement. More cases of bronchitis and bronciectasis are being

undertaken and all show remarkable improvement. Whenever there have been

relapses. the major factor was overdoing things, mostly physical exertion.
On symptom similarity Bryonia was the drug that was needed intercurrently.

Surprisingly, Bryonia was also indicated during relapses in bronchial

conditions. Depending upon sputum examination and past or family history

Pneumococcin or Bacillinum were also used to hasten the action of 6x.
In January 1986 the BHJ printed more experiences with this remedy, now known

as Vermiculitum or Vermiculite. The German veterinarian author Hugo Wolff

told of giving Vercimulitum 6x to a severely physically handicapped

colleague who later wrote to him: It will probably be of special interest to

you to hear that the agonising pain in my legs has almost completely

disappeared since about a week ago. The right knee is freely mobile again

and can he exercised, and the paralysis on the right side shows marked

improvement for the first time in seven years! After that long period of

time 1 am now actually able to walk without a stick at times, yet 1 had been

unable to walk even with a frame for the last nine months. We still find it

difficult to take this in, and we are tremendously grateful to you. The full

significance of the help I have received will be apparent if I tell you that

the orthopaedic surgeon who is looking after me, one of the leading men in

his field, had told me only this April that he felt he could do no more for

me and I should be grateful to have avoided a wheelchair so far. . . ."
Having tested it on a human, Wolff then used Vermiculitum in 83 cases in his

veterinary practice (36 times the 6x, 30 times the 12x, 17 times the 30x).

The conditions he treated were always genuine bone diseases causing

lameness, irrespective of the clinical label-rickets, arthritis, dysplasia

of the hip joint, lameness following fractures, indefinable growth disorders

involving lameness, osteofibrosis and spondylosis. All kinds of dogs were

treated, large and small. *31 showed complete recovery, *51 marked

improvement, and *18 showed no response, probably because they had bone

tumours.
One of Wolffs cases was a red chow-chow, 7 years old. A school of

veterinary medicine considered it incurable. It had a hip dysplasia so

severe it was almost too painful to watch it walk. Vermiclilitum 6x, three

times a day, was given in three courses of 20 days, after which the dog was

able to walk as well as before the disease developed. A phone call about

two years after its last lot of medicine confirmed that the dog was still in

excellent condition. Several people in New Zealand have prescribed

Vermiculitum to both humans and animals with results as spectacular as in

the cases related here. If your have had such success please tell

Homoeopathica about it.
