This is a newer species of mosquito to So. Calif brought in thru travel and transport of goods: .... the Aedes mosquito which 'bites' from the ankle to the knee region. (LA Vector control ID'd)

I thought Staph 6 worked for this and I have given it to patients with success.

After you get the bite, if you stop the oxygen from getting in, the itch stops. So, I use tape. I carry it with me when I go out. Stops the itch and the swelling. I learned if from putting it on a toddler who was infecting the bits by scratching. The tape stopped the itch. After that, I don't worry about bites. I think after a while I become less tasty to those critters.

I've heard that rubbing regular listerine on exposed skin acts as a good repellant but haven't yet tried it myself.

I have used Ledum Pal mother tincture much useful for such bites. If bites itch or inflame, a few drops at site will do the needful. It'll sooth and bring releif.
By the way I send below link to download a wonderful tool for downloading free to enhance the practice and look for such words as "mosquito bite" . This program will tell you, Bell, Calad, Rhus-v and Berberus.
