Hi Victoria,

Thanks for the link to this remedy resource. Lots of info here.

Is this the "Old Washington Homeopathic Pharmacy"???

Hi Tanya,

They have the remedy at the link Victoria sent. I think it might be "the old Washington Homeopathic Pharmacy"? (The one JW mentioned from time to time.)

I wish I knew. I only bought few remedies from them , they used to carry many M T as well. Thier packaging is a bit erratic. But remedies do work.

I am not a homeopath but a nutritionist. I am a huge fan of homeopathy nevertheless. Hopefully you will find a suitable remedy but in the meantime because of the urgency, I'd like to tell you what I did when my Jack Russell who had a massive mastitis went into kidney failure with high creatinine through the roof. I didn't have a vet homeopath at the time because she had been relatively healthy until then. I took her off to the out-of-hours vet who didn't expect her to survive the night, nor did I. She was immobile, lethargic. almost lifeless and wouldn't even lift her head. She was kept in clinic where she was put on IV fluids and antibiotics. Thinking it was final days I brought her home for the inevitable but I stopped (in tears) by my favourite herbalist to see what he could recommend. I had already researched and found ALOE VERA which theoretically would buffer the over abundant acids which are typically produced by the failing kidneys. I purchased that and took the recommendation of REISHI mushroom which I knew was capable of reducing inflammation. (I was in such a state at the time and everything happened so quickly, I didn't even have time to try to find a vet homeopath.)
At home, late at night I squirted gently into the side of the mouth a small syringe full of water combined with Aloe plus a bit of egg nog alternatively with a small syringe Reishi with water. I said good-bye to her in my mind and went to bed. About 2 AM I sensed something moving on my bed. To my utter astonishment, I realised the dog was on there, that not only had she had the strength to jump onto it, but she was licking the infected breast. I went back to sleep thinking I must have been seeing things but next morning, there she was, attending to her sore breast. I got up to make a tea in the kitchen and heard a thud from the bedroom. She came carreening around the corner into the kitchen and stood in front of the outside door, motioning to be let out. Door opened and she trotted, then ran onto the lawn whereupon she peed for blighty. The breast had ruptured leaving a gaping hole but behaviour wise, she was cheerful, walking and quenching her thirst. Over the day, I managed to get her to eat and then over the week, the wound healed from inside out as if nothing had happened at all. As far as I could see, she had recovered with no after effects at all.
I now suspect it was the antibiotics that caused the kidney and liver failure. SYNULOX/NOROCLAV (human version is AUGMENTIN, I discovered afterwards are top of the list for drug-induced liver injury as per National Institutes of Health and I believe the Aloe or the Reishi had somehow countered the side -effects.
I have some theories on how the mastitis came about but I won't go into this now as it's been a rather long post. I just wanted to tell you what helped us in the emergency. The long and the short of this though is, be careful of the antibiotics described above and next time, as for myself, I now have a vet homeopath for the future. One lives and learns.
Hi all,

Did someone mention a remedy that had been helpful in a renal failure case recently? Maybe Dale, as she has a lot of experience in this area? (I have done an archive search and didn't find anything. I think it was about lowering the creatinine level????)

My almost 19 yr. old, male feline has been vet diagnosed and really isn't feeling good. He is on Ringers IV fluids, anti-nausea meds and special diet.

He was doing well yesterday and I encouraged him to eat, probably too much food and he has been not doing well since. (Probably over feeding for his condition?)

Am researching quality high protein, in small amounts, like range free chicken heart or egg white. Any suggestions welcome..........

Hi, Leilanae

Sorry for not responding sooner, but I just received your e-mail.

I’ve only treated a few cats in renal failure (I only the pets of my human clients). Serum Anguillae is a good sort of all-purpose remedy for this, but the best response I’ve seen was from Phosphorus in a cat who needed the remedy constitutionally.

If there is a remedy included in the major rubric for renal failure (Kidneys, suppression of urine rubric) that also matches him constitutionally, I’d try that first. (There are lots of sub-rubrics in that one, but they’re too small to be of much use.)

Peace,
Dale
