IMO
It has nothing to do with statins and everthing to do with eating too may carbohydrates.
Excess carbs are stored as visceral fat, which makes inflammatory chemicals incluling LDL cholesterol (which does not come from food) and cortisol.

The way to reverse it is a low carb diet with high levels of antioxidants.
Not steroids.

I agree 110%. And if you are lucky enough to have chronic pain, you can test this theory hour by hour. When you eat lots of micronutrients like what you would get from juicing veggies (not potatoes and not too many carrots, but lots of kale, cucumbers, celery, beets, etc., low carb veggies), you will be able to notice that your pain will subside. And when you attack your stash of Hershey Kisses, your pain will increase.
