Re: What to do about vaccination when traveling with children?

Per the Polio Global Eradication Initiative:
In the north [Bauchi Local Government Area (LGA), Borno and Kano states] especially yes, and so far in 2013 there are 49 cases of all 3 strains combined, and a major OPV vaccine effort is happening now early Oct in the North.
Nigerians get ill with it because of the harsh conditions there.
CDC says:
"A small number of people (4 to 8 people out of 100) will have flu-like symptoms. These symptoms usually last 2 to 5 days then go away on their own.
In rare cases, poliovirus infection can be very serious. About 1 out of 100 people will have weakness or paralysis in their arms, legs, or both. This paralysis or weakness can last a lifetime."
It spreads through contact with saliva or feces, if it is swallowed. (Touching infected toys and then eating a sandwich without hand washing and so on. Rule" Keep hands away forom mouth unless washed, have saniwipes or plastic gloves in handbag/purse or pocket if in danger areas with infected people.)
My cousin is a homeopath whose husband was badly crippled by polio. I say WAS, as after she got him on matched remedy, he recovered almost completely, he just has a very slight limp if you look for it.
[She happens to specialize in helping people with paralysis, using homeopathy, physiotherapy and touch-for-health systems. When she has completed a consult, she goes to the window, opens it, and strokes her arms, each with the other hand alternately, from shoulders to fingertips (one way only) a few times, then shakes off the negative energy downwards out of the window - does it between cases and at end of cases. Says she can get quite ill if she retains all the negative energy she removes from clients.]
I'd use a preventive nosode if it was me going to a nasty illnes area. Plus some Moducare 6 caps a day - NEVER missing a day - to keep my thymus healthy in general.
Why? It is everywhere. Is she expecting to get bitten or something?
Hypericum, and Ledum are prophylactic and can be used after a tetanus incident (puncture wound).
If I get a puncture wound, I just apply both topically and by mouth.
I'd for sure take a first aid homeopathy kit if I was going there - or anywhere:-)
A little preparation can remove all the worry. She's smart to plan.
Namaste,
Irene
