Interesting looking site but it charges a monthly fee and does not have seem to consider GE based
ingredients in the product.

our kids site has some good options, the Vit D is sourced from mushrooms

http://www.ourkidsasd.com/products/vita ... man%20Labs
i look for gluten, dairy, casein, soy, corn free and GMO free on the label. if the manufacturer doesn't state these i typically just move on.

soy is the worst cause even the bottle might say soy free but the Vit E is derived from soy but they claim it is soy free. so i always call the manufacturer on the soy derived products. you can get Vit E from nuts or sunflower seeds sourced.

my daughter check the label and there is no mag stearate in it so I told to her keep the product.
the only caveat was that the Vit D3 came from sheep lanolin. Of course this does not say what
the sheep were eating!!!!!!!

Very hard I agree, money talks so loudly.
One manufacturer I use is Thorne Research, the supps I get from them do not have it.
(But I have not checked all their products) . They do have Vit D without it.

totally agree about the limits of labelling; calls to mftr are needed.
will check out the kids site. never knew Vit D was made from mushrooms. I am
familiar with synthetic and lanolin based.

Hi Tanya,

I have used this brand for its HCL, Gentian bitters blend and found it extremely effective. I only stopped using it because I found I could make my own cheaper. Also, I used to purchase it on Iherb.com, usually much cheaper especially when buying in volume.

Sincerely yours truly,
Mary Ann Gilmore

thanks. have seen iherb before but was cautious about buying from them as there is so much online
that you know nothing about.

I bought the HCL from Pure Bulk Foods online and then add my own herbs and then use vegetarian capsules, much cheaper and herbs that we know we need that work rather than a standardized formula which is ok if it works but not as effective as personalised supplements.

iHerb is terrific! Along the same lines as Vitacost, but their packaging is vastly more "ecological" -- mostly cardboard etc., whereas Vitacost uses yards and yards and yards of plastic bubble wrap -- enough to survive an airplane drop, I think. For that reason I have switched over to iHerb; prices are basically similar, and never had any quality problems with either.

Hi Shannon,

Agree iHerb is good. Sometimes Swansons prices are a bit lower and sometimes Amazon's prices are a bit lower and Amazon has a lower "free shipping" requirement.
