I don't see why not.
The very word Homeopathy - has a specific meaning - as defined by Hahnemann - and it has to do with the similarity between symptoms of the patient and symptoms known to be helped by a remedy.
It seems to me ANYTHING that can be covered within that definition is homeopathy.
Anything that cannot fit that definition, is outside of homeopathy.
Further details are not needed.
There is no need for example to all agree whether or not that covers prophylaxis (as I see it does per APh 141 but others do not agree) etc.
The individual INTERPRETATION of that principle can be omitted form any unification of what constitutes homeopathy.
....but the need to match symptoms of patient with symptoms of remedy - THAT is the essence and common ground of homeopathy.
How we each use that - is individual.
Mixtures are NOT homeopathy as they do not fit that definition of matching symptoms of patient to symptoms of remedy.
Within this, we individually make MANY varied choices:
Some match more than one remedy ..............but they DO MATCH symptoms of patient and symptoms of remedy.
Some stuck to what they call Hahnemann's approach or potency selections. Some use new selections liek Fibonacci series. No matter - it still matched symptoms of patient to symptoms of remedy.
and a long list of variations in practice can be named - no matter!
Just as allopathy matches drug/treatment to disease - we match symptoms of patient to symptoms of remedy.
It's a VERY general definition within which we all vary - but that is the key principle on which there's no excuse to disagree.
Mixopathy is NOT homeopathy - the WORD homeopathy requires symptoms of patient match symptoms of remedy. (Homeo - Greek root... Similar; Pathos - Greek root for Suffering/pathology.)
or "Simila similubus curentur"
THAT is the essential minimum definition or Homeopathy - matching symptoms of a patient to symptoms of remedy. NOTHING else will invoke the natural healing powers of nature (The Law of Similars) that are active when that matching process is correct.
How we individually achieve that matching is not relevant to what constitutes homeopathy - it's an individual practice thing - but at its core - the matching of patient and remedy symptoms - IS homeopathy.
If we agree that basic principle - we have a cohesive and unified whole which has the Law of Similars to prove it efficacy. Is that not all we need to agree here to provide a uniform front to those who do NOT understand WHY homeopathy works? After all, this matching process, IS why homeopathy works. It IS homeopathy.
Namaste,
Irene
