For the NZ information, go to
www.medsafe.govt.nz click on "Data Sheets" type the generic name in the search box AND ask the search engine to look for the generic name, voila; it is generally extremely complete by law, and I have been surprised many times by facts I did not know about very old and well-known (I thought) drugs.....

Dear Ellen,
The website is not one for researching drug reactions, but here is the cite for the article:
http://www.dovepress.com/antidepressant ... mendation1
It's by Dr. Yolande Lucire, who is no friend of Big Pharma. In the many cases she presents, genetic variations made the patients poor metabolizers of the drugs they were given, which caused toxic build-up in their systems. Instead of recognizing the symptoms, the doctors universally increased dosages and/or added other drugs to the mix, some of which worked to further diminish the patient's ability to metabolize. The results were some pretty tragic incidents -- a man killing his father, parents killing their kids, etc.
Not light reading, but very useful for anyone interested in how SSRIs and other anti-depressants can do harm.
Peace,
Dale
